Yeah, that's kind of an awful feeling huh? Guess some people are just clueless - especially since it is relatively easy to get gifted games here with a minimum of guile and a modicum of manners...still, sorry to hear that :-(

You shouldn't feel bad if the reason of you blocking another user was because he was begging.

I don't like leechers as I don't like (game) beggars. Just because somebody likes to give games from time to time that doesn't mean that is enough reason to be interrupted by somebody asking privately to gift them games or something. That's the reason of why my Steam Inventory is set to "private". I already have been in a few situations where I was bothered by some unknown person out of nowhere asking for something from my Inventory... trying to trade or for free... (>_<). Not only this is totally rude, it's also very inappropriate and very awkward for anyone.

As for GOG, I have blocked just one user (with REP = 0) because she (he?) was spamming messages via PM about wishing to meet me and to trade e-mails, because she (he?) saw my profile in some social network... The thing is, not only this sounded really fishy, I also have never used and will never have an account in any social network, not even Facebook or Twitter... (:P)

Also,on topic: the block feauture is there for a reason,if someone was harassing/annoying you why shouldn't you block him. Seems reasonable enough :)
