Just started looking at older PC games like Baldur's Gate etc. and Ive never played a game like that before so i'm wondering if i should start out with a certain game or anything, if it even matters. Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Well, what kind of games do normally play? What genres do you prefer? There are a lot of awesome games on GOG, so you'll have to narrow it down a little.

The "bestselling" sorting option is a darn good indicator for good games. Just read some game descriptions and take what sounds interesting. Around 3/4 of the games on GOG a worth to be played anyway, so making a bad purchase isn't that likely.

Well i guess Im kind of asking out of Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Arcanum, Fallout 1 & 2, and Planescape: Torment whats a good one to start out with, Ive played many rpg's but never really a D&D rpg type. And any other games like that would be cool to.
I have only played BG and BG2 but BG2 is my favorite game of all time. I know there are those who find BG superior to BG2, but honestly I love that in BG2 you can actually DO SOMETHING when you start. BG is rough because at the start of the game everything kills you in one hit lol.

So, my two cents BG2 is awesome.

With the possible exception of Baldur's Gate 1 I think all of the games you mentioned are excellent. You can't go wrong with any of them. Fallout 1 + 2 are on sale this weekend ($3 each), so this would be a great time to get them. The Fallout games are absolute classics in the CRPG genre. As long as you don't mind the post-apocalyptic setting, I highly recommend trying those games.

Thank you for the help!
Oh, and be sure to check out the game subforums. There are mods and patches for many of the classic RPGs that will significantly improve your game experience (higher resolutions, bug fixes, additional content etc.)
