Interesting releases for me have slowed down lately but there are still games I want here that I haven't bought yet: Sin Gold, Screamer 4x4, Bloodnet, Covert Action, Sword of the Samurai, Pinball World, Deadlock, Harvester.

I've said my peace.

I've said my peace.
I missed that while it was gem promo a while back, waiting for it to go on sale again.
Even if there's "nothing interesting being released", the catalog is full of awesome games that'll take a long time to play through:
Ultima series
Wing Commander series
Crusader: No Remorse and No Regret
Little Big Adventure 1 + 2
The Legend of Kyrandia Books 1 - 3
Thief 1 - 3
Gothic series
Arx Fatalis
Risen 1 + 2
Divinity series
Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
King of Dragon Pass
Master of Orion 1 + 2
Master of Magic
Shadow Warrior (Classic and reboot)
Rise of the Triad (Classic and reboot)
Sword of the Samurai

I could go on and on and on. I don't know how anyone can call the GOG catalog boring. And even if I had finished all those games, there are plenty I'd love to play through again.
I havent bought much lately either, very few indy games catch my eye and even fewer of the ones that do are interesting for me, I dont think GOG and their catalogue has become "stale" just because there is not a game that i want to buy everyweek, what is it they say "Different strokes for different folks"

I hold out hope that GOG will secure some more titles that I see and just buy without thinking about it like the good old days but that is yet to be seen.

Regarding the issue of price, there are times that GOG is more expensive than other places, what you get with GOG however is bonus's that other sites dont often have, your games are DRM free, the GOG team are great at helping you to get you games working if for some reason they do not work on your configuration and most importantly, because GOG is 100% drm free you will never lose the games you have purchased. If steam shuts down you are pretty much fucked, because you can back up everything you have on GOG with ease onto physical media or whatever if GOG shuts down you can still play your games, also if memory serves GOG once mentioned that if the did go under they would attempt to keep the servers up for as long as possible for you to DL your software.

goodrobbo: I haven't bought a GoG game in AAAAAAGES, there is nothing interesting being 'released'.

I'm definitely not interested in new indie releases, or games I can get cheaper elsewhere.

What gives? Do you agree that GoG's catalogue has grown stale, once you take away the must-buys?

You can get mad, if you like; prove me wrong.
I've got money waiting, just nothing to spend it on apart from the true must-buys (CRPGs etc)
What's in your catalog right now and I'll let you know about some games you should try out.
Every store grows 'stale' if you take away the must-buys. Once you have everything you're interested in, what else is there? I haven't bought a lot for myself from GOG for a while either. But that's also true of other sources of games: Indie bundles, Steam, Origin, etc. I have only a handful of games on my wishlist; I'm waiting for a handful of kickstarters I've backed; there are only a handful of upcoming games that I'm interested in. So the whole game industry is 'stale' if you take this reasoning to the nth degree... ;)
They just released Risen 1 and 2. Those are decent cRPGs.
