The big day is approaching and everyone is counting hours, minutes and seconds when the GOG staff members will appear in the spotlight! Believe us, we're all excited about this as well, but first things first. Let us give you some details, so everyone knows who, what, where and when.

Who? All of you, our dear users, are invited to watch the live streaming of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference.
What? The live streaming will include presentations by CD Projekt RED with their awesome game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and GOG.com revealing some cool stuff. Both presentations will be in English.
Where? You'll be able to watch both presentations on GOG.com. On Thursday we'll put up a news post with a live stream video window embedded in it for your convenience.
When? The live streaming of CD Projekt RED presentation will start on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. EST (that's 4:00 p.m. GMT - that's 9:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 12:00 p.m. New York, 5:00 p.m. London time or 6:00 p.m. Warsaw time). GOG will hit the stage an hour later at 1:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. GMT).

You may also notice some teaser spots on the front page. These will change during the next three days, so feel free to speculate what's it all about :). See you on Thursday!

duggie: silly guess: Resident Evil
Good one. You never know.

Would Capcom have anything else old on the PC worth caring about?

Wolf3: Star Control 2 or Starflight would be awesome, for older games I actually want.

Hmm...I don't know what this will be, but the suspense is exciting LOL
Star Con 2 is available free at the moment under the name of 'Ur-Quan Masters', google it and you can download, so I doubt its that.

Sooo many choices here, Wing Commander, Privateer, Elite, Starlancer/Freelander, Homeworld, even System Shock could sort of fit the clue. Its so vague is maddening.

About the least likely IP to wind up on GOG ever. Whoever currently has the rights is probably being sued by Paramount right now. That's the way it goes with that IP.

Atari at the moment with Star Trek: Online. Not a farts chance in hell of getting the old games which include Spectrum Holobyte, Sega and Bethesda.

They'll take my "A Final Unity" box away from my cold, dead hand.
Ay yi yi. I leave the GOG message boards for a couple days, and then the GOG team drops a (figurative) bomb on us.

So, I'll go ahead and handicap the likelihood of the different things I've seen thus far:

Star Wars: Likely
X-Com: UFO Defense (and the other X-Com games): Really likely, especially since the UFO games (which were either inspired by X-Com or ripped it off, depending on your stance) are on GOG already.
System Shock 1 & 2: Also very likely, since System Shock 2 has been the most requested game in GOG history.
Alpha Centauri / Civilization: Really likely, especially if Firaxis comes on board along with EA and 2K.
Star Trek: Likely, if only because Paramount may want to make a peace offering to Trekkies angered that the Star Trek Netflix deal got pushed back to June.
Star Control: Likely
Wing Commander / Privateer: Likely
Homeworld: Likely
Elite: Likely
Starlancer / Freelancer: Likely

That clue was fairly vague in that a great many things fit into that clue. Maybe the next clue will be more specific.

No love for Alien Legacy? It was owned by Sierra who is already on board with GOG...great game by the way!

Star Control games would be wonderful.

X-Com!!!

System Shock is the bomb, but I'm not counting on that one.

I like how you graded their likelyhood on a two-point scale where the lowest score is 'likely'. When I listen to my favourite tracks on the radio, I turn the volume up to Max, maximum or really maximum! It's not very informative ._.
I'd like to pin my hopes on System Shock 2 for the same reason you do, though.

I know this isn't a 'what is this game?' thread but I remember a game where you built your own moon base. A little sim city like but you got attacked as well I think. But can't remember the name of it.

That would be great to see as well. If only I could remember the name xD
Was top-down I believe, think you had little tanks and stuff, and .. missiles? gah don't remember :(

Well, thank you for how you liked that! I kind of did it that way totally by accident, though.

Agreed on System Shock 2, but I'm really pinning my own hopes on stuff like Wing Commander (since I never played it), Star Trek (mainly Voyager: Elite Force, as I never played that either), and the Star Wars games (many of which I never played also). I'm mainly pinning my hopes on System Shock 2 so that we don't ever have to hear about System Shock 2 not being on GOG ever again.

System Shock 1 and or 2 would be instant buy's for me so count me among the hopeful.
I think Martian Dreams is a good guess cangelo. I hope you are right.
