OFFTOPIC: Shadow, the sever is still being a complete ass. I'm not sure if anyone is that willing to donate since it was still being laggy and disconnecting randomly last night.

Opened another support ticket about that but the thing is that when I tried it today it was ok and seemed to work without any problems. I'll try and get on tonight because it may have something to do with overall load of the physical server.

Shadow, people would like replays to be enabled I think. pl0x does have a ftp server we can use if we need to.

edit: The server is still stuttering occasionally. It still also changes maps randomly, badwater ended randomly when the time left was 0:00 and steel changed to eygpt after the capture of C at 22 minutes left (no games won).

I'll look into the replay thing.

As for the server stuttering, every time I tested it during the day it worked OK but tonight I'll be on and see what can be done.

I'm really stumped regarding the map changing issues because we aren't runny any plugins pertaining to that. I'll see hat can be done.

Edit: well, I'll do that as soon as I can access the control panel or the ftp server.

I've just enabled and tested replays and they now work so you can film to your hearts content.

I also think I fixed the random map changes but haven't had anyone to test with so it's stuck on maybe for now.
No! I'm not a fockin serial killer.
My intention was to be playing much more TF2 when I got my new PC.

This has been diverted to Bad Company 2 (mate has a casual clan, ended up getting in with them)

Myself and /lurk will no doubt plague the server come end of May though.
Just reposting this announcement here made by evillguy12 on the group for those who haven't read it.

"After much thought, we, the admins of GOM, have decided to close the GOG.COM - TF2 group and the GOM server. The reasons for this are as follows...

1) 133 MEMBERS, 8(ish) PLAYERS - Despite the fact that we have well over a hundred members in the group, barely any of them actually join (and some do not even play Team Fortress 2). Therefore, we decided a new group needs to be created.

2) THE SERVER HOST IS BLOODY AWFUL - Over the past few weeks the server has been terrible and has essentially killed what little community there was left. We decided a new host was in order and therefore a new group...

Which leads us to some good news, NEW SERVER AND GROUP ARRIVING SHORTLY! For those who played TF2 regularly on the server and were a big part of the GOM community fear not! SANDVICH NOW, APOCALYPSE IS LATER (SNAIL for short)...a new server with a new host (not a bad one) and a new group will be coming soon! More news will arrive on that later but for now...

So long and thanks for all the gibs!"

I'm in complete agreement with this move as I rarely have the time needed to properly administer the server and keep every administrative aspect running properly (updates, plugins, donations etc.) and also lost interested in the game because of both the admin portion and because of overplaying it.

I'll still help with the new server but nothing full time.

I've also started a donation campaign for the new server; you can for now make donations at the usual website or at gom [dot] donate [at] gmail [dot] com until the new team will set up things on their end. All money will be redirected towards them.
I saw this coming for a while. Good to hear that you will be creating a different group though, rather then just finding an already estabilished servers to join. I'll probably drop by every now and again but I've grown a little bored of TF2.

UKCS, I don't think any server out there can beat them. :) Maybe this new GOG server should join forces with UKCS?
Glad to hear my fav TF2 community isn't going away, even if I don't play much just now.

Hoping to be able to donate regularly once my monetary situation is (FINALLY) sorted.
... Why close down the group? Why not just... close the server and keep the group?

Read the first point in the announcement. Most of the people in the group from GOG barely ever joined, and some flat out never joined. It would be better to start from scratch and only invite the people we know are interested then go on from there.

I did.

I liked the group because I was a TF2 player that was also a GOG customer. I didn't know that I also needed to play in specific servers.

But fine, I guess...
