HertogJan: DRM free new games on a platform like GOG would be great.
Unfortunately publishers would be too scared for piracy of those games.
After all, it won't just be the 'professional' pirates who don't need to crack a game to share it, GOG buyers can share it too without any problems.
Although I think that if GOG would start selling new games, publishers would be mostly afraid of people sharing the games with friends, not online.
If GOG would want to do such a thing, they should start by or limited themselves to selling indy games.
I think the 'GOG.com formula' works better for indy developers than for the major publishers.
No DRM hassles, extras, sales/discounts, community, etc. but above all worldwide availability and the same pricing for everyone
I agree that publishers like EA, Activision, and Ubi wouldn't sell their new games DRM free. But I think it'd attract a lot of indie devs who already sell their games DRM free.
