Hello

Before I commit to buy, I assume that all games that state windows 7
will all run OK in Mac Bootcamp running Windows 7 or parallels ?

I don't have Parallels but I am using Bootcamp with windows 7.

I do have over 100 games here and didn't have any problems with running them.

Only few of the games (3 out of more than a 100 in my case) needed some effort to run. But this is not because of Bootcamp.
Some games just don't like multiple processors or RAM more than 4gb's etc. So far I could find the solution to all the problems I encountered within the forums of that game.
It might work in Parallels, but I've never really heard of any games running well in Parallels. As someone who plays all of my GOGs in Bootcamp, that works just as perfectly as running it in a regular Windows machine.

That's pretty much because it is a reguilar Windows machine, albeit with an Apple-designed case.

Thanks for the replies.

I bought Baldurs Gate and it runs in Bootcamp OK, well I say Ok the graphics are a bit clunky in fullscreen and running in a window is to small.

It does NOT run in parallels.

Fixed resolution at 640x480 does that.

Get the widescreen mod and set it to around 1024-1280 width and appropriate height for your screen (1280x720 for a common 16:9 screen, 1280x800 for 16:10). Use your screen's native resolution if you want, but those are usually too high to really enjoy the game, the mentioned are quite good.
Thanks will try that :)
OK, tried it, cannot even get it to install let alone use it.

Please do not reply to this as in help because if I have to mess about to view these games correctly after buying them what ever the cost, then I will be buying no more.

Thanks for the replies though :)

Edit - I wish to retract the above as at the time I was really not in a good frame of mind and was really expecting to much from an old game. I should have known better and after running Baldurs Gate in WIndows under Bootcamp the game is fine.

Fair enough, just be aware that not all games on GOG have resolution restrictions like this.
It could be some config problems with Parallels, as Baldur's Gate 1 works correctly with the free VirtualBox (Windows XP) on a 21.5 iMac.

(the resolution is still quite low without the widescreen mod)

You are viewing these games correctly, as in vanilla. For non-vanilla content, you have to use mods. God forbid they implemented these thing in-game without our permission, then they're insulting the other "I'm not buying any more games because" camp.
