It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Those two different categories are a great idea! Just one more suggestion, shouldn't we restrict the games category to the individual games:

RoA 1 + 2: Products
RoA 1: Games
Roa 2: Games
Roa 3: Games + Products

Would make the category:games page a little bit more streamlined.

Edit: Updated your template, but can't get my head around making a box.

xyem: I've downloaded all the game boxes of off GOG, looks like file uploads need enabling though before I can put them on.

Preferably after installing the MultiUpload extension :P http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MultiUpload
will do so today. Hopefully during my work day, but can't promise... at least tonight.

Excellent.

I've actually managed to get the game boxes without the "glossy reflection" at the bottom of them and their sizes vary wildly (171x241 all the way up to 1554x2232 !)

Should I resize these all to the smallest (and co-incidentally most common) size?

Here is something to talk about. I would like to put something like this into the guidelines:

A lot of the information in the wiki will be gathered from the forums. As a sign of common courtesy I would prefer it, if each member is asked before his information is copied. This, of course, could possibly put a real break on things. Therefore I came up with a "benefactor list".

A "benefactor" is a person that acknowledges the use of all their shared help, bugfixes, links, etc. they posted in the forums. To maintain this list, there would be a thread on the forums in which each benefactor would make himself known. And a list on the wiki for quick access. So there wouldn’t be any need to ask any more.

I know this is in no way legally binding or anything, but I think it would be a nice sign showing that we want everybody in the community involved. And there will be no bad blood, because someone feels that his contributions have been stolen.

So, what do you think?
Sorry if you already discussed it, because it hasn't been covered here:

Do you think the wiki should include a price history for the games? It could be useful for the bargain hunters out there. If you wanted to do that, I'd be willing go back through the newsposts and make a spreadsheet of it or something; I think all the information on past promos can still be traced down, or at least most of it. Then again, I can imagine some fairly strong arguments against, so if you don't want to do that, I'm fine with it.

In any case, you deserve a lot of respect for doing this, guys and gals. Thanks.
I hope this will be useful.

I don't know... MAYbe (with a big MAY) we could include the time of the last sale. Personally I'm against it, the price range on GOG isn't that big, so sales aren't critically important.

There could be something like a public spreadsheet the wiki would link to. But I'm still skeptical...

Never the less, it is nice to know people are coming up with their own ideas on how to improve the wiki.

Oops, sorry. I meant "template" in an untechnical term. I created a "Standart game Page" into which your template can then be integrated.

Have you read what I wrote about the "latest upload"?

Concering my other proposal, I think it would make sense as now every Product is also a Game, which somewhat doesn' t feel right. With the change, the distinction would be more relevant.

Here it is (was on the dicussion page):
For whoever does the box, we should include somethin like "latest upload" or "latest GOG Version" for fixes that didn't change the version number.

Sounds got, I will get started on it.
a little update for all the little helpers: server memory problem is solved. Image Upload is working now, and we shall not get any blank pages anymore :)

Don't look at me, this whole thing is magic to me.... I think Ubi was trying to fix something, the reset itself was planned, no clue if it was supposed to be this long ...
