Aww Man almost everything I've posted on the forums have resulted in long debating. So I thought it's time for a change of pace.

So, are you planing on buying someone a GOG game for Christmas? Also what are some of your favorite games on GOG and why?

My favorite game on this site is Unreal tournament, both 99 and 04.

And I also plan on buying them again for a friend as a Christmas gift. UT 99 is is 15 years old and in 5 more years will be 20, and I'm sure it will still be one of my favorite games on PC.
If it's on sale, Battle Chess and Earthworm Jim 1+2. Right now those are the only games out of the current promotion I want. I've actually been keeping an eye out to see if anyone on the threads might have an unused code for those two, but no luck. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else I'm interested in.

Earthworm Jim was such a fun game. There are also other platformers, Puddle and Giana Sisters looks interesting.

Puddle looks interesting, but I've gotten a bunch of indie games lately and I'm looking for some older and familiar games for a bit.
Duke Nukem Manhattan Project is a great game with a great Retro feel...

As for Xmas i think im going to treat myself this year and pick up Legacy of Kain series.. what says Christmas more then a Legend of Zelda meets Vampire game ^_^

Oh also the Deponia's 1 and 2 want them so bad!

I presently finished all the LOK games. They are amazing I think you'll enjoy them for the story. However, you might want to go on youtube and watch all the cut scenes from blood omen 1 then start Soul Reaver 1. The story will be much easier to follow after that.
Ill buy whatever is on my gfs wishlist.
Nope, don't buy digital stuff as presents.

However if I have some extra monies I might giveaway some games here during the sale.
I'll be looking to pick up my current wishlist for myself:

FTL: Faster Than Light
La Mulana
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
The Longest Journey
Deponia
King of Dragon Pass
Legend of Grimrock
The Whispered World
Resonance
Gemini Rue

I often pick up a couple games to give away during sales, and I expect I'll do so again this coming Christmas sale as well.

I think digital games would make a great gift, if only you could make it so they can't be played played until Christmas. But if they allowed that then you'd know people would troll you be buying you games that you can't use until you're 100 years old lol XD

This got me thinking. One thing that they could do here is to simply allow you to send a "secret" gift, that shows up in the form of a gift box in the persons inventory, until the day it is supposed to be delivered. And in the case the person in question ends up buying the game that it contains, the gifter could get the option to change the content of the box, without the person receiving the gift ever knowing.
There are a few games that I am waiting to buy when the X-mas sale hits. I love sales.

That's a great idea, should take that up with the admins.

Nice idea! I'd like to offer an alternative as well. The idea is that during the GOG Christmas sale or whatever people from the forums could participate in a secret santa type of deal. We need a moderator or two who would be able to match everyone up. Then you can either send them their gifts digitally or through the mail if that's ok.

The cool bit is that perhaps you could send those digital games as a code written on a postcard with a nice message from a part of the world. People receive them, redeem them and say thanks :-)

Can't wait for Christmas Santa or no Santa!

That too is a good idea, :)
