ufo2222: So, i have a few games on CD that are also on GOG and was wondering if there was a way to fix the games like GOG does without having to purchase them on GOG?
Tallima: Rainbow 6: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3061693/Do_the_original_Rainbow_Six_an.html
(it says that the newest patched version was made compatible with Win XP, and that works with Win 7)
Red Baron:
This is your best bet: http://redbaronplayers.net/
(couldn't find compatibility info all by itself)
(this also may help? http://www.gog.com/forum/red_baron_pack/red_baron_3d_in_windows_7 )
I remember being very poor and being very cheap, too. I had lots of game time and very few games. Don't feel bad about it. But once you get on your feet, trust me, it'll be very nice to spend your very few hours of gaming a week on gaming through your large backlog and not searching for patches. :)
(ps: sales and thrift store make it easy to be cheap and have games.)

I suppose you could technically download the pirated (GOG) versions and replace the executables of your versions.. but if you're doing that you might as well just keep that pirated copy.

Your best bet is to look here for fixes:
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home
Now that site does not have every game but a simple Google search will lead you to fixes for games as well. As far as running the games with no cd like the GOG versions, some games patch out the CD checks but more often than not that is not the case. So in order to do that, you may have to get dirty and apply a no cd crack to your retail game which seems bad, but I contend that doing this to a game you payed good money for is not bad. I am not posting links to places that offer cracks but if you search around you will find some.
