This feels all wrong... I'm trying to put my finger on why, and I keep returning to Rod.
Rodzaju: I think I can now say with certainty that at least 1 of Muttly, Me, Vitek & Rabbit are scum.
I know who my money is on....
On page 37 you were "confident of two scum. Primal and Muttly." (#723) Dropped Primal when you saw your case wasn't floating..?
On that post you also said "As for you not dying, clearly the scum wouldn't be inclined to vote for one of their own."
... this a couple of pages after having pulled xyem up for speaking of bussing a townie.
...hang on a second.
muttly13: Next to last vote would be as good as the last in the environment surrounding Orry. To deny that is just plain silly. Of course, one could also take my statement and think "hey, I can probably get another vote in Muttly" and then vote in the hopes I would follow, and who was it that sparked my vote I wonder... Oh yes!!! It was you!
Orry was at L-3 before this (and had been for quite some time).
Rod voted, and you did indeed follow, in the very next post.
You are arguing that L-1 ("Next to last vote") and the hammer ("the last") are "as good as" each other. Au contraire! Pazzer has already pointed out that the hammer voter attracts the most attention. Additionally, and perhaps more obviously, at L-1 there is still a slim chance of the target's survival; at the hammer it's all over. The fact that you believed Orry was the town cop, but were still prepared to put the final nail in his coffin, screams 'scum'. Compare this with the others, specifically rabbit (also newbie), who was "80% sure" he was town, and so did not vote. Neither did Baz, Bard or xyem.
"sparked" is the word we were all messing with - Rod interprets this as "pushing you", I tried "pressure". But either way, I can't see this sequence any other way than you following his lead. You even said yourself he "sparked" your vote. You seem to be admitting that you followed his lead, but are trying to blame
him for it -
muttly13: I said he could have interpreted my comments about O and attempted to prompt my vote. Which is did, if he meant to or not. For once, that is clear as day and right there in black and white.
I'm beginning to think Rod might be The Experienced Player in his own theory. (Yeah I just turned your own theory against you! :P )
I have to do a blast of NaNoWriMo writing now to try and catch up my word count, but I'm going to read through again later with attention to Rod and Muttly and see if anything jumps out...
