Has anyone had any success getting these games to work on linux?
I'm currently away for work and my laptop has Ubuntu installed on it. I'd love to get some of these games, particularly stronghold, to kill some time with.
If anyones gotten some of the GoG games working or if theres a seperate site that has some info on that it would be greatly appreciated if you could pass the info along :)
I haven't even tried anything yet btw, I want to be sure I have half a chance of getting something working before I go through the effort of downloading anything. Satellite internet is less than optimal for that sort of thing >_>

why would you want to use an unsupported format!? :O
just kidding - I know many of these games were originally available in linux flavors, but the installer only works under xp and vista, of course that doesn't rule out emulation software. :D

Stronghold works perfectly under Wine. Perfectly.
For DOS games (HOMM, Duke Nukem...) you can just use the Linux DOSBox.
For ScummVM games - such as Beaneath a Steel Sky, you can just sudo apt-get install beneath-a-steel-sky, if it's not in there, there's the Linux ScummVM.
The other Win32 games are just trial and error. I know the Guild fails explicably.
