mike: u got to be kiddin' me.. witcher for console? it would like.. like.. like civ for console, just.. weird :P

You dont`t know Civilization: Revolution for Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS, right? :D
To port The Witcher over would require a massive overhaul of the UI. Actual combat seems easy enough to port, but the alchemy and things are just... complex, even for PC. (Pre-Enhanced Edition)
The witcher 2
You can't be sure anything until confirmed by CD Projekt RED. The possible leak to GamePro it is in my opinion just a part of marketing game played by PR and Marketing people for CDPR or a piece of someones imagination. GamePro? It is not even important game portal, so why they have such a secret information, what is their source? I personally doubt that they know more then others. That's known for sure that CDPR works on porting The Wither to the consoles, but I don't think that it is that secret information. I thing that we will hear soon about expansion pack or Witcher 2. On the Witcher forum some voices say that The Witcher 2 will be made using completily new engine, so that will take a bit longer if true to made the new game. Opinion that The Witcher will be available on gog.com is just funny and I don't think that it will hapen sooner than in a few years time. The RPG games market is kind of specific and ageing of those kind of games takes much longer and sales is still kind of high years after releasing (if game's good). As I said any kind of info is just speculation before confirming by CD Projekt and this opinion is my personal
Edit: It seems like "The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf" for PS3 and Xbox is going to become a fact. I hope thet it's not their secret held. That would be desapointing for PC players

It is good that console players will be able to play this outstanding game, but using gog.com to promote it was quite a bit unfortunate.
And the fact that PC version is now regarded as the "worse" one does not help : /.
But darn it all to hell, I just want MY WITCHER 2 ANNOUNCEMENT, DAMMIT!.

Weclock: I still have my fingers cross for a GOG.com announcement.

That Wolfhunt title actually being a game could be interesting.
By the way, the amount of rage the mere prospect of a console version has generated is pretty surprising (check the official forums). Everyone's already predicting dumbed-down console-only sequels and lots and lots of money-grabbing. I'd say that can wait until they actually announce plans to do so.

Yeah, everybody understands :-)
So does anyone think a console version would make it past the US censors? Censoring the sex cards was the biggest joke ever -- those were the least offensive things in the game. Necrophilia, bigotry, incest, murder, rape, prostitution, drinking, gambling, terrorism... Did I leave anything out? Wonderful, dark game for adults. My nephew, a PS3 owner, probably shouldn't play it yet. He still gets excited when he hears someone cuss. Oh, that's another one, bad language!

I know.. and it's weird! You have to admit that :P
Huh, turns out the hunt was for the console-only Witcher after all. Lame.
Guess it's back to waiting for the other projects to be announced.
I find advertising console port in gog.com, especially by gog.com staff, weird to say the least gog.com being PC only game site. I too am rather disapointed about the hunt as I was expecting announcement of some new PC game project.
Also while I do hope Witcher succeeds in consoles market, at the same time I fear that if it succeeds too well it may mean that future CD Projekt game projects may turn out to be either console only, console games ported to PC or PC versions dumped down for sake of consoles.

I'm happy for it to come to the consoles, being an avid 360 player myself anyway. I really need to get around to actually playing The Witcher at some point though...
