Hello,

So I got a Gog code for $9.99 I would like to use to buy Dracula 4+5 game, which currently costs $9.99, but it does not appear on my list. From trying and failing several times to purchase other games with this code , I assume that:

* Codes can´t be used if a game is discounted (which means I can´t use it for the majority of games on Gog, as tons of the games I want are discounted)

*Codes can´t be used for an amount that is higher than the code, so I can never have the chance to use the code and pay the difference on a game.

*If a game costs say $6 and I use my $9.99 code on it, the extra $ 3 will just be "sucked up" by the system.

So I would like to hear if you guys can confirm that these asinine rules I mentioned actually do apply to GOG codes. If so, I have never seen anything more senseless, inconvenient and just well wrong.

I can't confirm it but i read in a few threads that those bonus codes can't be used for games on sale. So during the Summer Sale you won't have many games to choose from.

Just in case you want Dracula 4+5 now check the last few pages of GOG's trading threads, several people have that game on their trade list:

Or he could get it from tremorgames, it's super cheap there.. 75 coins which takes pretty much no effort to get.

Unfortunately, you can only use a $9.99 giftcode for games with a base price of $9.99 or lower. GOG has promised to implement a Wallet/Coin/Store Credit system sometime this year, so you might want to hold on your giftcode for a little while longer.

A code that is valid for a $9.99 game allows you to purchase a game with a non-discounted price of $9.99 or less for free. It doesn't care about discounted price, nor how much the game actually costs.

GOG has said that they plan to introduce store credit at some point, but ETA is still unknown.

I am glad to hear GOG already has plans to modify this terrible code system. My code is valid until August so I hope to be able to use it on something by then.

Thanks so much for directing me to the trading thread. I am new on the forum so no idea that even existed :) I contacted someone and hopefully will be able to make a trade :)
