Guys I realise GOG are distributors, but they can still work out a deal with Valve to release these games. And it's my understanding that GOG hold exclusive rights to some of these games too, is that not correct?
They can make this work if they really wanted to

GOG doesn't own distribution rights, only publishers/IP holders own those and only publishers/IP holders can decide to work out the deal with Valve. GOG may insist on exclusivity for a particular game for a limited time, but that's it.

GOG is a distributor; they make money from distributing the games.
So I'm going to have to go with no.

They do not hold any exclusive rights to these games. In fact, some of the games GOG sells are already on Steam.
