I kind of hope we don't, just because that means they have to keep the non-Steam versions up to date. Some devs seem to go "Woo, now we're on Steam we'll just give out Steam codes and drop support for all other versions".

I understand your fears but I'm already married to Steam so I like having the games I purchase be available on Steam. I of course still want my DRM free version, but having it Steam always means I have automatic updates. I don't know, it's convenient I guess.

I just got this on Desura. They'd better not stop updating non-Steam versions.

Desura has a client too, and I'm pretty sure they do automatic updates. It's a pretty neat little system really, and they do a good job with Indie support.

Steam wont be faithful to you...

Well it's one step below automatic and informs you of updates but doesn't do anything unless you say yes, which is IMO better than automatic. On Steam it seems you either have forced automatic or no updates (doesn't even tell you there is an update). Desura handles the updates rather elegantly already. I'm not really opposed to them giving out Steam keys, I just really hope they continue to support the Desura version.
