please post if you use it =)
You know, the point of them giving you keys for Steam is not for you to hand them out to people so they never contribute something to the devs.
I've got two GG MAC games I've got to get rid of but either no one has a MAC or everyone has the games already.

I'll give you a clue.....one of the games is GISH!!

I've had about four or five copies of that game now. XD

8*-(
You ever buy a used game lad? ;)
EDIT: Of course I don't know anything about these games and avoid steam for the most part...So I've probably missed your point. No offense meant friend! :D

I think for some people, they can't afford to give much to the bundle and are too embarrassed to give the little that they can but don't mind accepting gifts and I don't mind helping them out.

For me it's give and take - I wasn't ashamed to only throw one dollar at the last bundle but I had previously purchased Isaac and Blocks at release price.

Of course, if I had more money to play with I would've went back and threw in another five for the sake of Voxatron and that platformer (just as good as Voxatron IMO).

It really depends who you're handing out to - the kid I handed mine off to had all of four Steam games and two of them were the free to play ones.

I've found that you have to be careful how big of a leap of faith you take with an independent game that has no demo - I shop a lot at Indievania where the risk is only $1 to $5 and doesn't hurt too much if the game doesn't work.

It's not about you. It's not about the recipient either. It's about the developers selling one bundle and two or three people all getting the games. All legality and even morality aside, that's just tacky and underhanded.

As the devs of Steel Storm have recently stated, putting a game in one of those bundles doesn't always help them. In fact, it appears that for them, including the game in the bundle did more harm than good. Something to think about when giving away "extra" keys while keeping the DRM free version, etc....

Get over yourself.

Firstly, some people can't use credit cards online so recieving a game from some kind people over the internet is much more helpful since it raises awareness of the developers to the person who recieves the key, which in turn could cause that person to start support more of that developers work.

Secondly Theres a thing called used games. These are much worse than giving steam keys out since only 1 other person can benefit from your bundle as opposed to potentionally thousands of people buying used games from shops.

Finally, People could just pirate it if they really wanted to, but instead would rather buy the bundle in the first place and be kind enough to actually give the steam key away rather than it being wasted and having someone spend money on the game when they could get it free via a steam key.

ChickenHero: Get over yourself.
Honestly that retort makes more sense for people who are selfish enough to think these games are theirs to do with whatever they like than it is for me asking people to honor the developers' work.

How is "I could pirate it" a reason for anything? You should go into Walmart and tell them to sell you stuff at half-price because " hey, I could just shoplift."

Do you have any idea how bad of an example that truly is... I mean seriously... You can in fact force them to sell there stuff cheaper. If somebody else has something on sale, they have to honor there price.

That being said... you are blowing something that isn't even a remotely big deal WAY out of proportion. For someone who is so adamantly Anti-DRM because of the restrictions it imposed, you are being quite hypocritical in this thread. The fact is that they purchased the games.... they did not steal them... so what they choose to do with them (as long as it is within the law) is up to them. You have a problem with that.... well thats just it... its your problem, not everybody else's.
I love the fact that I have gotten a few Steam Keys here. It has given me the opportunity to check out some games I would never buy (or Pirate) and made me aware of some developers I should actually support. All in all I think its a win - win as I am more likely to spend a few bucks on a game I might not have even payed attention to before.

The free Magicka weekend on Steam has given me the chance to play this little game and it is very fun. Hope it makes its way to the new GOG as I will definitely pick it up.
