Anyone else getting "Whoops! Something went wrong. Sorry :-(" when trying to gift Fallout?

You can't gift Fallout while it is free.

Expalined in another thread by EnigmaticT but as gift codes last for 12 months and the free game is only for 48 hours you can't gift it.

Yeah, I discovered this when I tried to gift it to my brother. I ended up just telling him it was free and he made an account and got it. It would have been a nice surprise to be able to gift it to him though.

You could always send them a link to the main page, they'd have to set up an account anyway.

A fine idea, but prone to unlawful use. Someone could sell the gift code away cheaply once the promo was over, and in such a way making himself some fraudulent profit.

You just know that some people would gift hundreds/thousands of gift codes to themselves to sell, trade, or gift later. They would take advantage of the generosity of GOG and Interplay in a heartbeat :(
