I've looked this up, but I want to make sure since I am not really familiar with it (don't own a console myself) and it may have changed since the forum posts here and elsewhere were written. It seems that if I want to gift the Xbox version of Trine 2, I have to buy points from Amazon or a retailer then give the person the points and they buy the game. There is no way for me to simply buy the game with money (with or without creating an Xbox account) and send them a gift code which they can tie to their account. Is that right?

Thanks!

Apparently, you can't:

You can't. The closest thing you can do is gifting MS Points to the person you want to gift the game so he/she can buy Trine 2.
There are some games which have codes to redeem them from a promo or something.
Ah nuts ... thanks for the replies guys! +1 for everyone Weird that some people in that thread are defending the lack of ability to send gifts ... I don't really understand the logic ...

Well they seem to don't know that there is a difference between a game as a gift in your account and a game owned in your account.
