Reclaim the Earth!

7th Legion, a sci-fi real-time strategy title spanning 35 fast-paced missions and an immpressive number of diverse units, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours!

The game is a stunning RTS set on the long-forlorn Earth, that is once again a backdrop for an epic conflict. The interstellar Evacuation Program for the wealthy left the overpopulated and polluted planet to the poor and underprivileged. Centuries later, the "Chosen" come back to reclaim the derelict globe only to be greeted by the 7th Legion in a rather explosive manner. While taking control of whichever side of the conflict you prefer you get to develop their technology to create advanced structures and weapons. To obliterate the oppositiion you'll need to beat timed sub-missions and quickly hone your strategic planning and execution. Oh, and make sure you play your Battle Cards right! The GOG.com version also comes with the full MP3 soundtrack by the unsung hero of the 90s synthsound Blair Zuppicich.

If you're up for some intense futuristic RTS action make sure you give 7th Legion a try, now for only $2.39! The offer lasts until 9:59AM GMT on Tuesday, September 2.

Grargar: Since Monday sucks so much, we demand a Monday release, even if it's just a bloody movie!
Or even the unreleased DLCs, like Guacamelee and Surgeon Simulator 2013.

JudasIscariot: Mondays are our "get things ready for release" days 90% of the time :)
Idealy, even if you guys had a game for every week day, Monday through Friday, you still wouldn't release as much as the busiest platforms and you wouldn't run out of games. You'd just need the extra staff members to do the extra work with the same level of training and quality control.

It's possible!

It also brightens the beginning of the week for people to see games first thing in the morning on a Monday!

Seriously, what were you thinking. 8)

SimpleUser: Agreed. Its the "square peg in the round hole" of the new design front page.

The "GOG.COM All that is Good In Gaming" section just doesn't sit well anyway on the page.

Maybe it should be moved above BestSellers - but then you wont see the games!

Maybe the gap between the top gray bar and the Whats New section needs reducing....

but nice promo either way :)

Fever_Discordia: Yeah, when *I* didn't spot a promo at 11am (GMT) I was hoping that they were putting the finishing touches on the Galaxy launch and THAT was going to be the big news for today - disappointed now!
This new site - i dont talk about asthetics - is glitchy and evil. No matter what i click in "Whats New", i always end up with "The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter". And if i chose right that, i get "Super Time Force". WHOOO!

If they put the same effort in Galaxy, which i do not doubt, it will be great to read the forums then. Next August. ;)

On that note, you could say the same about any game that comes out Tuesday or Wednesday. Never release games on a schedule in hopes that people "finish" them on time. From experience on your end as well as mine it's obvious people will buy and backlog games if they look promising.

And as for Monday releases, it would just be better to make it a regular thing. Many would agree. I mean, who wouldn't want to see more games?

Also, after the removal of over 30 games, the catalog needs some replacement titles of equivalent value (if that's even possible). But any game is better than none.

Well, I can say that we are working on getting those classics replaced all the while hoping that the ones leaving will make a return one day :)

Well that is reassuring because it certainly was really disappointing to see that long list of games removed in 2014 so far on the wiki page. Overall though I hope that statistics at the end of year show that more games were released on GOG then removed from the catalog as compared to the years before. :)

Good to hear :)

Hopefully we also get to see 1,000 games here before the end of 2015. The rate it's going it may be sooner than that.

Also...was 7th Legion a lone game, or is there any other games in it's series or perhaps a spiritual successor?

I've realized in the past couple years how many older titles have other titles reminiscent of their originals (or they're actually based off a different, older game). Just curious!

Yes, 7th Legion is a standalone title :)

While not related at all, I like to think of the Killzone games on the PlayStation platforms as spiritual successors to this.
Just compare the intro cutscenes for them and you'll notice a few similarities:
