GameRager: Yes but the more it happens to harder it'll be for him to spin it away or for him to contain it. ;)

Delixe: It's already gone past the point where he can spin it. The facts are console game sales are now in decline while PC downloads are increasing year on year. PC retail is continuing to decline and thats the figure idiots like him use but all the industry analysts are saying that downloads are not only taking up the retail slack but increasing the overall market share. This is before you factor in webgames and MMO's, EA have seen the value in the PC market and it was they that insisted on a PC version of Bulletstorm, Cliify B was against it.
Also realize the downloads are going strong despite no ability to sell after purchase while console titles actually rely on reselling to drive release day sales.
nah, seriously - who care's about this overrated console crap title?

infinite9: I'm not sure if a more completed or completed version of the game was leaked but it sounds like someone in Epic or Microsoft needs to get fired immediately. The leak was a severe act of incompetence.
No offense dude, but if you'd clicked the link you would've seen the article's title said "Early Gears of War 3 Code Hits Internet" and if you'd read the article you'd know that Microsoft said the content was not from a final build of the game and is not representative of what fans will experience when the game launches...

I personally never got the appeal of the series, and always found the protagonist(s) to look and behave hilariously buff and gruff, to the point where they seem a parody of themselves. So, meh. This is also the first I've heard of one of Epic's lead guys being so vocal regarding PC gamers and piracy and, yes, that definitely makes this whole situation chuckle-worthy :P
absolutely
If you open a book about pcgamers there's usually an addendum of 12 pages about piracy
So cliffy seems to have an uncontrollable way of accusing everyone of piracy.

So to read this is what the call "shadenfruede".

GameRager: If it happens a few times he'll just write it off or dismiss it. If it happens en-masse it could cause quite a stir. :\
avatar
Delixe: Epic are paid good money by Microsoft to shut up about piracy on the 360 so no even if it was pirated en-masse Cliffy would still take the stage and tell everyone who will listen that all PC owners are pirating scum that are destroying the games industry.
Huh. I thought the used market was destroying the games industry...
I bet those dirty PC gamers who are all pirates wanted to make the Xbox look bad. So they obviously stole the game because console gamers would never pirate.

Trololol.

They can't decide all the time. One time it is piracy, one time it is the used market.
The truth is that the low quality of the games (gameplay) and the DRM is destroying the market. But i know for sure that someone will go bankrupt and then some new companies come with new names.

orcishgamer: Yeah, screw Epic, too bad everyone uses their engine...
avatar
Rohan15: So...would you consider that to be an, *dons sunglasses*, Epic fail? ;)
LOLOL

Horatio would be proud.
To be honest i am glad this has happened especially to Epic as i have been fed up with their anti pc crap for years now. I wont buy another Epic game again from them because of this but sadly as someone pointed out everyone used their engine.

They do this rant on the orders of their boss (microsoft).

I didn't quite see that. Maybe it's just me or the title got edited. I guess Epic and Microsoft should be feel lucky that it wasn't the latest build of the game. Still someone needs to get the punished within Epic and Microsoft because next time, Epic and Microsoft may not be so lucky.
