Most people know, Gamespy will shutdown, so will their masterserver also, meaning that many players might not find a gameserver anymore.

There are several solutions like gameranger or xfire. They are really nice, BUT you have to install other software and you must use this software to find other servers.

OUR solution is simple: An own masterserver.

333networks has an own masterserver which can be used for uplink and downlink. That means that you don't have to install any software for it, you can still find gameservers in your own game/gamebrowser.

An example is Unreal Tournament (UT).

Edit your servers configuration file, usually called UnrealTournament.ini at section [Engine.GameEngine]

Find these lines:

ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=utmaster.epicgames.com MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900

And change them to:

ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=utmaster.epicgames.com MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.333networks.com MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.noccer.de MasterServerPort=27900

In your UnrealTournament.ini find this section and edit it

from:
[UBrowser.UBrowserMainClientWindow]
bKeepMasterServer=False

To

[UBrowser.UBrowserMainClientWindow]
bKeepMasterServer=True

Find this:

ListFactories[0]=UBrowser.UBrowserGSpyFact,MasterServerAddress=unreal.epicgames.com,MasterServerTCPPort=28900, Region=0,GameName=ut
ListFactories[1]=UBrowser.UBrowserGSpyFact,MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com,MasterServerTCPPort=28900,R egion=0,GameName=ut
bFallbackFactories=False

Change them to:


[UBrowserAll]
ListFactories[0]=UBrowser.UBrowserGSpyFact,MasterServerAddress=master.noccer.de,MasterServerTCPPort=28900,Regi on=0,GameName=ut

UT99 is still one of my absolute favorites, and it would be a shame to see the game become derelict. Thanks for keeping it alive - This thread need more attention.

I also read elsewhere on the net, that it is a good server you guys have up and running, and making the code readily available is a really good decision too!

Oh yeah, that is true, maybe GOG can do this? Maybe with edited config file aswell?

However, just have a lok from time to time, other games will be supported later :)
