jefequeso: Thief is cool. I loved Thief II when I played it a few years back. Thief I isn't grabbing me as much... not sure why. Probably 'cause now I've got a bunch of other games demanding my attention. I'm going to need to make myself sit down and play the game, without getting distracted by "ooh, new armor in Terraria!" :3.

GameRager: Maybe the zombies scurr ya, ya bloody taffer. :P

;)
heh

No, I think it's just that I'm not as focused as I was when I played Thief II. At that time, Thief II was my only new game, so it was all I was focused on, gaming-wise. Now, that's not the case. It's a shame, really, because focusing on one game is the best way to appreciate it.

I'm having trouble with adventure games in general. I really liked the setting of those three and tried to play them, but it's really like I am running around all the same places without a plan or idea what I am doing, clicking every pixel on the screen... When I know what to do, then I enjoy those games immensely, but as soon as I am stuck, I lose my patience very quickly and fun is over :( I know I'll be back to Experience 112 and maybe TLJ. I hope I can learn to play adventure games someday. Anyone can propose an easy game to start with? (At the moment I am considering purchase of Monkey Island remakes, but I don't know if I can have fun with those...)
You can't really go wrong with Monkey Island 1 & 2, IMO there are only few adventures that are on the same level. I just watched the interview between the MI creators Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer yesterday and I fully agreed when they said that a good adventure always offers you several puzzles to work on at the same time, so when you get stuck trying to solve one, you can still try to solve one of the others and maybe you'll get new ideas in the meantime. Some adventures are more linear and rewuire you only to solve one puzzle at a time, thus when you get stuck you get easily frustrated.

"Ben There, Dan That" and particularly "Time Gentlemen Please!" were pretty good in that regard (multiple puzzles), too, but they might be too hard for a beginner, not sure.

The indie adventures from WadjetEye are quite easy, e.g. "Gemini Rue" or the "Blackwell" series.

Red_Baron: Far cry (Never truly caught me.. was more of a drive around for ages, shoot two dudes.. go on driving than actual fun for me).

jefequeso: Wait... what?

Are you talking about the original, or the sequel?
Far Cry 2 - Sorry - was a bit unspecific. its the one that take place in an African area with some swamps and lots of roads.

"Day of the Tentacle" best. Point and Click. ever. I played it when I was still in my early teens and I made it, so I think it's very beginner friendly.

Might be a bitch to get nowadays. LucasArts doesn't sell it anymore and the also whack those Abandonware site pretty hard.

Also what Leroux said.

Oh, that reminded me of another one:

- Escape from Monkey Island
I still haven't played through it although I'd like to, but somehow I could never really get into it. Each time I tried, I went "meh" after a short time, even though I had barely started. I don't really know why; possibly to do with the inconvenient keyboard controls (as opposed to "point-and-click"), or with the graphical style not being that appealing to me; it seems to lack that special something that the first two games and even Curse of Monkey Island had ...
Okay, I'm just reminded of one: Fable: The Lost Chapters. Hate the aging process, hate the scars, hate the developers' disrespect of gamers' time by giving the stupid save game system (that won't do much good to gamers who can only play like 20-30 minutes at one sitting), etc.
Actually there was another one as well: Never winter nights expansions (all the newest ones) - Made me go: Arghh why.. I want to enjoy this: But giant figures walking on a map trying to trade while monsters pop up every to second kinda broke that idea.
And another:

- Penumbra: Ouverture
*SPOILERS* I bought the series at full price and would really like to play through it but the frustration made me stop early in the first installment already. I liked it up to the point where the hellhound keeps following you into that greater storeroom or what it was. You have to be very cunning and good at this game to knock him out, which I'm not, but I can't keep him off my back. I read in walkthrough that I should either barricade the door or keep my distance from it, so that the hound won't be tempted to enter the room, but no matter what I do he always comes in and a few barrels with rocks on top don't stop him ... :(
