deadbyday: Dungeon keeper cant get that to run right. Dispite dosbox

Sadly, ditto :(
Carmageddon 2
I have a legitimate copy that only works on XP after being cracked. It's so buggy though... the mini map doesn't work, and you have limited access to the menus with a mouse, making it impossible to buy different cars (which you need to to get anywhere). Oh God, I want it on GOG so badly I'm basically quivering in anticipation. GOG, meet SCI. SCI meet GOG. Now go play!
From what I've recently tried - Uplink, Tropico and Red Alert 2 refused to work properly. Homeworld 2 did that too, but since It was a DRM-related issue with it, I used a crack and played it without any problems. Have to say that these unpleasant experiences made me futher realize how cool GOG's approach is.

What problems are you having with Uplink?? It runs fine on Vista for me *cue the peasants' cheering*.

The main offenders would be Interstate 76 and the Nitro Pack for it, doesn't work on XP no matter what you do, no chance on Vista.
Others games of mine that don't work in XP/Vista:
Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate
Warhammer 40K: Firewarrior (well ok this does work in XP but it tends to cripple your internet explorer once installed, it forces an install of IE6 or 5 which also doesn't work heh)
Warhammer: Dark Omen
Warzone 2100
Machines
Forsaken
Mechwarrior 2 (any of them, iirc)
Incoming
7th Legion
Breed
I think thats it.

Have you buyed it from the Introversion store? I think it could be problem with polish boxed edition I own, since it was problematic even on XP with Win2k compatibility mode. It had an issue with hardware cursor, and now on Vista it just crashes after a few minutes of playing.

I paid for it in the Introversion store (3 times!!!) but I didn't "get" it from there. Only reason being because my card got charged but I couldn't get my game.
Is your version patched with all official patches?

Despy: If you were good you could save a few pennies by buying single density disks and using a hole punch in the proper spot, you could make them double density disks.

Wishbone: Actually, for my C64, I got for my birthday a "Disk Doubler", which was a hole punch specifically designed for the job, eliminating the risk of accidentally destroying your disks.

Was that a small blue thing with a huge black button on top? I had one of those and I think it was called disc doubler. Ahh if only DVDs worked that way eh? Then again I'm only assuming it won't, I've never actually tried it...
As for games, the main one I want to get working again is In Clod Blood, that was a freakin awesome game but never worked on XP quite right.
Microsoft released VirtualPC for free, it might be worth looking at for people who have games that only older OS' can run, set up an emulated version of 98SE or something (assuming you have 98 lying around still). You don't get GOOD hardware emulation but then it'd be better than anything available at the time.

bpops: Woah, this is awesome. I'm going to have to hunt down a copy! What's really scary is that it says two of the people who helped make the game are Michael Okuda and Rick Sternbach. I read a book by those two: The Star Trek Technical Manual. I have no shame.

You think THAT'S geeky? I have the CD Rom of the star trek technical manual. It used components of the original version of Dragon Naturally Speaking so you could TALK to the compuer just like they did on TV!!! Of course on TV they didn't need a microphone, compatible drivers, a processor upgrade and they didn't need to limit themselves to the roughly 400 words it actually understood...
