… or at least strongly dislike. I don’t mean games that you think are no fun at all, but ones that for whatever reason really annoy you. Maybe they ruined your favourite series with those new fangled action elements. Maybe there is some game play element you find insanely frustrating. Maybe they’re unbearably racist or sexist. Maybe everyone loves them and only you are able to see their flaws.
I have to say I have developed quite an irrational dislike for Fahrenheit. It’s just so… dumb. That’s not necessarily a problem, but the game seems to try so hard to be mature and clever and fails on every level. It’s like the developers wanted to prove that games can be serious art, but their idea of serious art consists solely of horrible soap operas and Hollywood blockbusters.
It starts of interesting, but soon descends into a mire of boring clichés and a truly cheesy fantasy story. The whole thing is completely intellectually bankrupt and I honestly felt offended by it. It even, like so many stuff of its kind, at one point quotes Shakespeare, to make it seem highbrow. Oh look, there are witches and wizards in Shakespeare’s plays, so when we quote something out of context, it seems to have some bearing on our crappy fantasy yarn!
It’s just... argh.

I can understand what you are saying. I haven't played enough of it yet to completely agree, but that definitely seems to be the direction things are going in.
I hate Demon's Souls. It just seems so pointless. I have absolutely no idea where I should go or why I should do anything. I suppose I'm probably missing the point of the game, but, as you said... argh. Also, I'm not a fan of the way you have to deal with dragons blowing fire on bridges like some Mario Party minigame or experiment with enemies and certain areas to know if they're powerful enough to destroy you immediately or not. I hate the way combat feels... guh...

Master Of Orion 3. I sat there on a Sunday afternoon for the longest time with my new game trying to figure out if was having fun or not. I finally decided i wasn't.

Urban Chaos - the control scheme in it (for M/KB) just is completely whacked and it turned me off from the game pretty quick. I liked some of the ideas in the game, the devs just hit the wrong direction for controls/UI feedback.

My least favorite game that I own (at least among those I have played so far) is probably Left 4 Dead. I just never really got into it.

I must say I have great difficulties finding enjoyment in Wizardry (of course, I've only tried to play 8), pre-Oblivion Elder Scrolls (though I really do want to like Morrowind because everyone says it's awesome), Might and Magic (Heroes 3 and 4 were great, but HoM&M and M&M are not the same genre, so they don't really compare in anyway, Dark Messiah was pretty good as well) , Caesar IV, Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile (C3 and the other city builders based on its engine are great)... have I made enough enemies yet? I'm not sure I can remember more games that frustrate me at the moment.
Back in the old days I had fun with several old-school RPG's and text-based games on my Mac Performa 475 (25 MHz 68040, 20 MB RAM), while manually trying to map up the games on graphing paper, but as I moved to a much more powerful PC (and - sadly - away from RPG's for a while, instead playing Red Alert 2, Half-Life, Counter Strike beta (I'll never consider it anything else than a mod to HL), and Age of Empires 2 when it was brand new, because that's what my friends were playing and I'm a geek so I wanted to play in LAN with them), I lost that. I rediscovered the RPG genre when a friend at my next school introduced me to Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, and now I kind of consider the related games (those based on the Infinity Engine) the pinnacle of RPG's. Those games (with the exception to CS, maybe since there's no story at all, or maybe because it's multiplayer only) are ones I can come back to at almost any time and have a good time with even if I very seldom play them through.
Uh, yeah... almost-irrelevant rant.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After spending hundreds of hours on Might and Magic games and too many hours to count on Heroes of Might and Magic I hear about this game, I see the screen shots and I get really excited. I hear there will be new combat, I say ok. It comes out, I can't play it. I buy a new graphics card. I boot it up and. . . It looks gray! Oh, boy a ruined gray castle, I've never seen one of those before! Combat is slow, boring and hateful. I hate the stupid physics engine and nonsensical puzzles it creates! I hate the voice acting, I hate kicking things in to pits! Argh, so much hatred!
Whew, I feel better.

All the RTS games. I am so bad at these games that the IA always own me big time... not speaking about playing against friends!!
RTS are something my brain can't seem to deal with and each time I try one, I'm more annoyed than having fun.
It's exactly the opposite for Turn-based strategy games, which I love.

World of Warcraft.......enough said.

I hate facebook. ... Oh wait that's not a game. Just needed to mention it after long argument with a friend about me needing to create an account on that hellish site, and even thou I know I would use some of it's features, there's no way in hell I'll do it after everyone tells me I have to.

Oh boy... Well, here goes.
Counter Strike - A game for twitch freaks. If you are not one of those (and I am not) then you will go through an endless cycle of Spawn, Move two steps, Headshot, Spawn, Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
World of Warcraft - The very existence of this game grates on my nerves. First of all, I'm totally opposed to the whole subscription system. If I buy a new game, I don't expect to have to keep paying in order to play it. Secondly, it's boring! I've seen people play it, and it looks more dull than watching chess on TV. The people who love it even describe it as being mind-numbingly repetetive. One word you will hear from WoW players more than any other is "grind". The rest of the words you will hear from them appear to be gibberish. And yet they keep paying and playing. I've seen people lose their jobs because of it. And it looks so freaking boring!!!
Star Control 3 - Oh man, what did they do to my beloved Star Control?

Never played it, but I heard that a common problem was that your character could be knocked to the ground and slowly kicked to death while there was precious little the player could do about it. Certainly sounds frustrating.
Yeah, well, I liked many of the gameplay decisions they made, but the story and the characters and the settings and the writing…

Agreed, killing 8 scorpions is NOT a quest. I can understand the appeal of the game in theory but my god is it boring the way they implemented it. I guess it proves that if you make something mediocre enough it will make embarrassing amounts of money.

No, that's a task. And that's what you find in most mmo"rpg", unfortunately.
