There is a form of story in Borderlands. However, I would go as far as calling the story interesting.
There are many small quests, quite varied. Usually I do a few quests at the same time and only get the rewards at one shot.
The main attraction of Borderlands is there are plenty of guns, ranging from shotguns that shoot rockets, SMG that shoots electric bolts to Sniper rifles that incinerate the target (and of course many more)
It's more suited for playing it with friends than playing it alone. It uses Gamespy for multiplayer.
Currently, if you want to host a game you gotta do port forwarding.

Great game - loved it.
And that's despite my minor complaints, which are coming up next...

The lack of story and character depth is the game's biggest weakness - a minor one, I might say. It's not deep at all and (worst of all) it's also very anti-climatic, when things are all said and done with the Main Quest.
I wish the game was littered w/ say audio logs (like Bioshock has), video logs (see Dead Space), written logs (see Doom 3), Codexes w/ extra background info (see Mass Effect and The Witcher) and other optional stuff - to add more flavor to the story for those who play the game basically alone.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
On hardcore because I'm a real man, not a girly wuss and managing to get all but one of the achievements (and the only reason I didn't get that missing one is that my coop partner hasn't been available yet).
Overall it was pretty damn good; hard, unforgiving and ruthless, much the same combination that OFP1 had. Didn't encounter many bugs either which puts it a step ahead of OFP1 (and a few kilometres ahead of ARMA1)
One criticism I could level is that it could definitely have been longer, I hope they do another campaign as a downloadable addon rather than just a series of fireteam engagements and multiplayer scenarios.

Just finished Half Life 2: Episode Two, and wow... Definitely better than Episode One. Didn't get all of the achievements, unfortunately. But I'll work on that, when I get around to it.
That Strider battle? Intense, and slightly annoying. Ultimately intense, though. Bring on Episode Three! (yes, Valve, focus!)
Also finished the "story" missions of Nation Red some days ago.. There is no real story, unfortunately, however, it's a mindless arena shooter - so what would one expect? Having said that, it's an absolute blast.

Finished Torchlight yesterday.
What a great game.
Now I'll play the other characters, in very hard difficulty and hardcore mode, 'cause was unfairly easy to complete game.
Here goes a screenshot of my Destroyer, if someone is curious. (after killing the final boss)
