Arx Fatalis - Works perfectly. Resolutions supported 640x480 (16 and 32bit variants) and 800x600 (16 and 32bit variants)
possibly more/higher resolutions supported in the gog 1.19 version.
retail version (which i found lying in my box of ye olde games in the loft) tested using 1.17 patch.
the version on gog is 1.19. this fixes more bugs and helps improve performance even more.

Has anyone tried Darkstar One on a netbook? I know it's a newer game than most on GOG, so I was wondering if it had any problems.

Same here, for my Asus 1000HE and I want some great games to play during traveling. Beats a movie any time. I shall post a list of games that work soon too, I still have to receive my netbook and install the games I bought so far.

ok, i play gogs almost exclusively on my eee pc 901. here is my list that i have tried on it with comments on playability.
Stronghold - Plays great
Arx Fatalis - plays strangely well, despite the combination of a notoriously buggy game and integrated graphics card
Fallout - works pretty well
MDK 2 - plays and looks great
Pro Pinball Timeshock - strangely slow
duke3d - get eduke32 otherwise it plays terribly
Manhattan Project - works great, find a widescreen hack
Sacrifice - plays, gets a little slow with lots of units
Cannon Fodder - works fine
Giants: C K - works perfectly
Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising - works well, a little cramped
BGAE - slow
Earthworm Jim - works great
Oddworlds - great on netbooks
Painkiller - no.
Unreal Tournament - perfect for netbooks
Flatout - not playable
The Guild - plays pretty well
Descent 1+2 - slows at higher resolutions
Shogo - smooth, plays great
messiah - plays well
Broken Sword 2 - amazing, love it. play it on your netbook.

which netbook did you get? im assuming they all run pretty much the same considering they mostly use the same hardware, but im curious to see if any of them perform better with games for some reason

I'm getting the Asus 1000HE... it has a slightly updated chipset, but according to tests it doesn't make that much of a difference with the other models.

Well I have been playing Help! Aliens! recently on my ACER netbook which I got for my birthday. It works fantastically well as far as I'm concerned. I didn't expect you could even play games on netbooks. Mine is an ACER netbook with Windows XP on it. I suppose the only thing is you can only play games that you can download off the internet since there isn't a CD drive. But anyway I wouldn't like to fill up my little netbook with gigabytes of games.

It is important to say that ANY game running with DOSBOX will be absolutely UNPLAYABLE on an ATOM. I tried SCREAMER 1 on a Sempron 3600+ and a Geforce7000M and it was slow as hell.

although you're right that any game that requires hardware TnL won't run, i think it's misleading to say there's not many games you can run on a netbook.

Pretty sure GTA:SA on min settings is the about the best this netbook can do, as far as 3d graphics go. But other than that there's tons of classics out there just begging to be replayed..

If you're having trouble on netbooks with TnL and other really annoying graphics-related errors and glitches, I suggest 3D Analyze, if you haven't used it already. Granted, an Atom isn't the fastest thing out there, but it tries its damndest to emulate graphics cards and their fancy stuff like TnL, and just the card itself, since some games won't even run because you have integrated graphics (even if your system is perfectly capable of running it).

For anyone who is in the market for a netbook to play games on, I'd suggest looking for one using the Nvidia ION platform (especially if you want your netbook to be able to run Call of Duty 4...).
