Acreo_Aeneas: I own the Acer AspireOne netbook.
There's actually not many games you can run on it. Any game that requires hardware transform and lighting will either be unplayable or won't even run.
although you're right that any game that requires hardware TnL won't run, i think it's misleading to say there's not many games you can run on a netbook.
i've also got an acer aspireone.
here's a partial list of games i have installed that run just fine on the little bugger:
Baldur's Gate 1+2
Civ 2
Commander Keen 1-6
Darwinia (low settings)
Day of the Tentacle
Deus Ex
Diablo 1+2
Doom 1+2
Dungeon Keeper 1+2
Monkey Island 1/2/3/4
Fallout 1+2
Full Throttle
Grim Fandango
Sam N Max (All of them)
Riven
Grand Theft Auto 1/2/3/Vice City
San Andreas (absolute minimum low settings)
Heroes of Might and Magic 1/2/3
Hexen
Morrowind (low settings)
Neverwinter Nights + expansions
Oddworld - Abe's Oddysee
The Pandora Directive (with dosbox)
Under a Killing Moon (with dosbox)
Peggle
Pro Pinball - Timeshock (thanks GOG! awesome pinball series)
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Simcity 4
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
System Shock 1 (dosbox)
System Shock 2 (dear god, getting this game to run is insane.)
Star Control 2: Ur Quan Masters
PlaneScape: Torment
Uplink
Xcom 1/2
Warcraft 1/2/3
Pretty sure GTA:SA on min settings is the about the best this netbook can do, as far as 3d graphics go. But other than that there's tons of classics out there just begging to be replayed..
