There's a few shitters in the Interplay collection but I won't complain about those seeing as they were just sweeteners during the Interplay Bundle sale.

However

Incoming Forces 1 + 2 is absolutely dreadful - 1 crashes hard but after playing a bit of 2, I couldn't care less to bother to get 1 to run.
Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive. I just... don't like it. I heard it was like the Commandos games (which I really like), and at first I thought it actually kind of was. But after a while it just stopped being fun. I had to really struggle through it. It was ridiculously hard, and the whole time I felt like something just wasn't working right.

Riven: The Sequel to Myst. The game is probably good. Really, it probably is. But the whole slideshow thing... bleh. I kept getting turned around and I had an even more lost feeling than I had when I started realMyst (which may have been my first problem; I greatly enjoyed the 3D environments, so going a step back technologically probably was the best choice).

Realms of Arkania 1+2. Now, I through this in with a bundle of other RPGs I was buying here on GOG one time because it sounded like it might be interesting. A really difficult game with true roleplaying (at least that was the impression I got from reviews). My first problem was the complicated and limiting ruleset. I tried reading the manual to help, but I didn't feel like I knew much more about the rules afterward. And then the whole presentation... I don't need the latest and best graphics, but I just couldn't stand looking at those graphics.

So basically, all of the purchases I regret are my own fault. I knew pretty much exactly what I was getting into, knew I probably wouldn't like the games (Desperados excepted), but I bought them anyway. I guess I'm just weird like that.

There's no such game as "Incoming Forces 2". The first one is called Incoming, and the second is called Incoming Forces. Also, the first one is much better than the second.

You think that's bad, you should give Barrow Hill a try :P

Well then the second one should've crashed.

Cavalieroscuro: Little Big Adventure.
Has one of the worst control system I ever tried. Can't managed to solve the first level :(
I've not tried it but on the LBA fan forums someone made a mod to add mouse and WASD controls for LBAWin (there might be other mods):

Heres a thread on these forums which talks about hooking LBAWin to GOG's LBA (LBAWin also can remove the damage you take when running into walls):

Probably the closest I've come to regretting a game here is King's Quest VII+VIII.

VIII gets pegged too often for being a bad King's Quest game. It's not. It's just a bad game period.

VII is good. Not great, but good. That being said, I still enjoyed it and it got me through a number of evenings when I was working a brutal, soul-crushing job, so I still don't see it as a regret.

My biggest regrets come mostly from games that I bought but haven't had the chance to really play yet.

Profanity: Two Worlds Epic Edition - ultimate bleh. Such a big world and I don't want to see any of it.

Dzsono: Oh no, don't say that! I haven't played it yet!
if you have it you should still give it a go. Some people (like me) loved it enough to play it several times. Though it is true some other people detest it. Its a love it or hate it game.

Oh good. It's sitting there on my GOG shelf waiting to be played. I'd hate to regret it before even installing!
In the short time since I discovered GOG, I have bought about half the catalogue here. I buy games I own, games I played and games I've heard of but never really got the chance to play. Sure, some of them aren't that good, but I see no reason to regret it.

The games I did play, I knew what I was buying, but I have my own reasons for needing an online shelf so this was a conscious decision. The ones I didn't, it's good to have the chance to try them and form my own opinion on them. And in both cases, they were pretty cheap individually (though collectively they may push me to go broke).

What is there to regret?

Not the money but filling up our pretty gaming shelfs with bad games that have no business there!

:P

Legend of Grimrock I'll say. Don't get it wrong, I love the game. However, I missed the launching sale, and bought it full price. Not long after I bought it, it went on sale.

mmm... I enjoy variety, so I may be the collector type. I never delete anything I got/downloaded from my hard disks once it's in there (unless it's a extreme case). So I guess I don't regret it because that's my usual behaviour.
I only buy gog games if they come with steam keys ;)
