If, like me, you are a netbook user (Such as the MSI Wind or the Asus EeePC), GOG.com is probably a lifesaver. The lack of disc drive and specs that aren't exactly suited for games after 2004 means that genuinely classic games probably are the best bet, and GOG suits this perfectly.
But what games are suitable for such netbooks? The small screen resolution (Wind/EeePC901s run at 1024x600) means that some ill-equipped games may cause problems.
I know Fallout 1and 2 have a resolution patch of some sort to run beautifully at 1024x600, but as for the others in the GOG range, who knows? I'm tempted to buy Original War as it's a damn good game, and although all these games are at a really low price it's not quite low enough to justify a potential non-working game.
So, is anyone else a netbook user? Can anyone else shed any light on what games will work at 1024x600?
I haven't tried yet, but all games based on the Infinity Engine (r) (from Baldurs' to Planescape Torment) with the proper community widescreen patch should be able to run
Else letterboxed 800x600 shall be available for most post W95 games.
