System Shock 2.

Kabuto: Total deaths: 21
Hardest Room Tower: 30 deaths

What's up with that?
Don't know, maybe the game miscounted deaths, because in the tower he died three times while jumping on the savepoints? Or maybe he cheated, but I don't think so.
Any platform game, Tomb Raider games, 2D side scrolling shooters.

JudasIscariot: Volgarr the Viking was made for speedrunning :D
And masochists xD
Depends a bit on what type of speedrun you intend to do. Most games with an actual end, where you set the pace and without some overly random elements can work as speedrunning material. I would imagine that the following games would make for speedruns that are interesting to watch:
System Shock 2
Ultima 7
Might & Magic-series
Myst
Divine Divinity
Outcast
Descent-series
Commandos-series
Crusader-series
Another world
Postal
Tiny & Big
Die by the Sword
Escape Goat
VVVVVV
Gateways
Völgar the Viking
Speedrunning is for people who have no respect for games, imo: I want to play, not to see someone exploiting some bug to finish a game.

Speedrunning is bad, and you should feel bad :-P
I watched the speedrun of Kid Icarus the other day, it was pretty amazing (partly because it was live).
Saying 'it shows no respect for the game' proves you don't understand/know what or how speedrun is done, that or you have a weird sense of sarcasm.

You can do speedruns without exploiting glitches or bugs :)

Speedrun of Volgarr without using a single exploit.
Has anyone mentioned Arcanum yet?

No?

Well then, Arcanum.
I depends on your definition of speedrunning. It has most sence for openended games like Fallout or Morrowind where the normal playthrough is tens of hours and a speedrun is nine minutes or so because it can be done within the game mechanics if you know what you're doing. The second type of games is the one where you can show your uber godly skill to beat the levels x times faster than an avarage player - Quake comes to mind.

Sadly they don't do games like that any more. When your speedrun is just a long as a normal playthrough the game is clearly not meant to be played like that.

I think all the interesting titles were already speedrunned but I'd like to see a Gothic 1,2 or 3 one.

Why should a speedrun be disrespectful in any way? There are plenty of people making speedruns without any kind of exploitation, and they have been doing it for ages, so I really don't see your point here -it's just a public display of skill, like going to an arcade.

About Volgarr: I made it in 0:58'49... I thought I did pretty good until I watched that video! 22'14? Insanity! :)
I surely hope more games like that will appear on GoG, it is one of the best indies of 2013 (imo)!

PaterAlf: You could try to beat this speedrun of VVVVVV:

This is why I hate watching speedruns. Goodbye gaming, we are clearly not meant for each other.

Walen:
I actually think the opposite. I find them more interesting when a player goes the normal route and the speedrun is more focused on the good old fashioned gaming skills, as opposed to focused on the game "bugs" that allow you to skip huge sections and such ("outbound" Portal speedruns, for instance) .

Never saw the point of speedruns, to be honest . I did a few (Doom, Serious Sam FS, mostly shooters) and I didn't like them .

I quite enjoyed it when they had devs commenting on what the speedrunners did in Awesome games done Quick. They seemed to mostly enjoy it (heck, the fact that people are willing to devote that much time & energy must mean something to them).

igortufekcic: Are there any, in your opinion? Why that specific game? Anyone here already into that business?
What kind of questions is that? Any game is worth speed running - if you like the game and like doing such thing.
