LaserCat. A short (1h) indie platformer, where you play as a cat, who need to save its owl friend. The game is basically a big scavenger hunt, where you need to locate all the keys that are scattered all over the game world, in order to open the cage that the owl is trapped in. With each key you find, you need to answer a trivia question, most of which are relatively common knowledge (but there were still some that I did not know the answer to)

had this recently on steam, my first phantasy star experience was pso and i did want to try the originals at some point. besides some parts being a bit brutal i had a great time with it, even enjoyed the open ending which would probably drive people crazy today

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. I've heard people saying the first one is the hardest, but I had more problems with this. I think I just spent some 2~3 hours trying that final mission again and again. Talk about difficulty spike.

I finished off DUke Nukem Forever (waits for applause :p)

Played it on PS3 meaning I got the full critic experience. Two weapons, long load times, poor shadows and inexplicable slowdown in certain areas (although nowhere near as bad as the 360 version)

MY thoughts: Well, the critics weren't lying. It's mediocre for the most part, The humor wasn't very good at all and most of the puzzles are defintely from the HL2 rejected pile.

The good parts were sparse and too many bosses of the lame peak and shoot, infinite reload variety. I think my worst complaint is not only do you carry two weapons, but each weapon's max is pathetic. Five rockets? 28 shotgun? Hell you can't even stock two of the same weapon. I don't even want to get started on how bad the driving levels were.

It's certainly not the worse game I've played and there were some good parts here and there. For example after you get past the stupid dialog of the hive (I thought it was okay to swallow. ugh), the hive level was a decent level.

I you think I'm ready to give it a 3/10, well I won't go that far. The blow the damn part 2 (escape) and the final boss were a revelation and eneded the game on a high note. The final boss was what the game was supposed to be like. Classic strafe and shoot with nowhere to hide and having to scrounge for more ammo. I bump it up 0.5 a point for finishing strong.

With that, it gets a 6/10 provided you didn't pay much for it. At $10 coupled with all the concept art and early videos, it's worth experiencing to see what happened.

Finished Lucidity. It has a great gaphics design and the music is magical but... the gameplay is too simplistic and doesn't evolve during the game. Too repetitive.

Finally finished Dragon Age Origins. It was the first WRPG/BIoware to really hold my interest (as KotOR didn't engage me enough to even finish the first planet - well, actually to be fair it's more like it was a pain to unhook my PS2 or Gamecube and hook up my xbox instead and when I finally did decide to buckle down and work on my Xbox backlog I found that it was a complete piece of crap and kept getting DRE making it pretty much impossible to play anything >_>). But it pissed away my attention span and good will towards it with way too many dull overly long combat riddled sections, the Fade, etc.. and the difficulty felt kind of uneven. Like it's a solid game, but just kind of boring overall. And the GRIMDARK and attempts at morality were kind of silly (since while I liked the party member approval more than just black/white alignment, the decisions were still pretty black/white ish especially since some of them seemed violent or mean spirited for the sake of being violent instead of something logical or beneficial to you).

Haven't decided yet whether I want to start Mass Effect 2, Divinity 2, Fallout 3, Magna Carta 2, or Halo 3 yet or if I want to hook my PS3 back up and work on getting more trophies.

And I might as well just post the entire list for the year until it gets updated.
