carnival73: That site looks it covers everything but those links on that page are dead...unless there is a certain way of downloading them. Saving from right click context menu just saves the entire page.
No, the links are not dead I tried. You have to left click on them and first they will jump to the correct link on the same page. Then if you click on the link where you just jumped, a new download page will popup where you can download the files.
I've only had to contact GG customer service a couple of times, but they've always been very good to me. Once they even gave me a free game because the download was taking forever, which wasn't their fault in the end.

Probably if you contact them and make them aware of the problem, if it is a problem and not just something with antivirus or a corrupt download, they'll take care of it. With their huge catalog, it would be difficult to really test all the games, and it's not really their deal. I don't think Walmart or Gamestop or the other brick and mortar stores test their pc games. More of a developer responsibility. One of the great things about GOG is that they really test their stuff. They have to because they're rewriting some of it. The downside is the comparatively tiny selection.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

GG are pretty good about refunds but the process takes awhile.

Well, the no CD crack causes the game to crash to desktop.

Tried downloading and installing again and that didn't fix the situation.

So I guess that just means to avoid obscure titles by lesser known developers unless purchasing from a retail store with a fair refund policy.

avoid GG completely, nothing but trouble with them and issues take months to resolve...

The few issues I've had with GG have all been resolved within 1 month. Most within 2 days.

My issue was resolved in 3 days, seems to be quite some inconsistency, I wonder why.

It's not necessarily the entire site. I've had a lot of good luck with GG as well (I've got four pages of games with them) it's just that they've got tons and tons of games and I think a lot of the shovelware on there hasn't been given a good inspection.

I think GG is just going to have to set a speedier return process as there is a lot of stuff on there that is either hit or miss.

It's kind of a shame because Gun Metal does look like a really fun game.

I have over 60 Games from GamersGate and NONE of them did not work.

Sure, their Downloader isn´t really that good but redownloading without AV-scanners shut off really does the trick.

And Support responded within 24hrs and the problems, the few I had, were solved within a very shot time, like 2 or 3 days depending on time zone you live in.

and within 14 days you can ask for a refund.
best :)

I've purchased about fifty through them and this is the fifth or sixth that I've had a problem with but then again, I'm purchasing some pretty stupid and obscure titles. XD

Originally about 40% of the games I got from there i was having problems with but that was quickly resolved by replacing my crappy Radeon HD with an nVidia GeoForce.

Yeah, they are not perfect, for sure. I also have some obscure titles but the least of them has an funny DRM on them. Mostly they have none or just serials.
As I think obsure Games are a special thing of GG. I find games there I cannot find anywhere else.

I still avoid Starforce and SecuRom and ESP:. Tagés wherever possible.
Maybe that´s the trick.
Though I had no problem with SecuRom or Starforce yet. And I don´t have any Tagés-DRM games.
I am really picky what to get from where :)
