michaelleung: Oh, these people. It was pretty "big" around GDC/E3 last year and Destructoid (that classy games media outlet we all know and love) had its own PlayXpert thing and claimed it was such a quantum leap in gaming because you could
surf the web while playing or
chat while playing! It was like they forgot Xfire or Steam's overlay even existed or something.
In other funny/unfunny news Gamersgate is selling a Left 4 Dead 2 guide.
SirEnity: Wait, Xfire can surf while playing? Also, GG is more of a competitor to D2D than anyone else.
Theoretically, XFire has a browser. It is supposed to work with most games that they support with their 2.0 interface.
In actuality, XFire's browser tends to crash horribly, has difficulty loading google, and should be avoided at all costs :p
The Steam browser actually works pretty well, and I find it very useful when playing a TES-style game (can check to see if I can kill someone without breaking stuff :p).
