As long as they talk more about games than cartography. Talking about games WITH cartography is OK.

deshadow52: Wow this thread kinda veered of course rather quickly. So i'm going to talk about this strange occurrence in the first fallout game I had the other day. So I was in The Hub in Old Town to be more specific and I just sold some guns to that black market gun shop guy and I was walking down the street and then combat mode kinda started out of no where and four guys came at me. I did take em out easily with my Combat Shotgun but that still doesn't explain why the attacked me in the first place. any ideas?
What did these 4 guys look like? Did you enter a building?

I don't really remember what they looked like other than the fact that they were human and I didn't enter any buildings to start it although I did enter a building during the battle to lure two of them in there. they also killed this random civilian in this building where the first two guys were and I think the game said they tried to shoot me (from inside the building to me that's outside) and missed and killed him instead. After I killed them all I took their guns and sold them and that's all I remember

Hmmmm. That sounds like those 4 guys from a quest in the Hub. There is one building where if you walk in they start shooting for no apparent reason. I think, judging from your description, that civilian might have been important to a quest. I can't tell since there is not enough to go on in your post. Sorry.

That's alright I thought it was pretty funny actually considering how easy they were to kill with my combat shotgun(I really love this weapon) and besides fallout is full of these random things happening whether it's scripted or not (see Junktown for reference).

Mmmm. Combat shottie. Yes, it is a very fun weapon. Use that in combination with the sniper rifle and you are a killing machine. Yes, the rifle lacks auto fire but the ability to snipe your enemies from far, far away is priceless.

Holy shit I just went through another awesome Fallout experience, I was doing a job for the Crimson Caravan cause I was really bored and we took a trip to the brotherhood of steel on the way we meet 4 or five raiders and we kicked their asses. when we got to the brotherhood I decided to go back to the hub immediately and I swear to god we were confronted by at least 10-12 raiders and I was like what the fuck. we did take em down even though I used like five stimpaks (weapon I used was 14mm pistol) but I never thought fallout would throw me so many enemies in such a small place. I made around 2000 caps or more from that trip it was awesome.

If we didn't constantly bicker about religion and sexuality, what would I do with my computer? Its time to take back GOG and remember why it was started... endless, ignorant, derivative, drivel!

It's not a random civilian, it's a BOS guy that was kidnapped. You should've rescued him to complete a quest.

Have you found Harold? He's in this area of The Hub.

I am setting up a GOG civil war. We pit the gamers vs. everyone else and reap, well, I don't know what we shall reap yet because there certainly is no profit, per se, in a GOG civil war...

Thank you Drelmanes. It was far too long since I have played Fallout 1. I could barely remember that quest :P
