Quaff is the way Vikings are portrayed as drinking beer. Big gulps, with half the beer ending on the face and/or vest.
Chugging usually requires a funnel, or a pitcher of beer. Again, large quantities in too short a time.
Guzzling is more often encounter with cars, as in gas guzzler, but one can be guzzling beer as well.
Sip and swill are more often about wine or other high volume alcohol drinks, since one takes smaller sips.
Imbibe is quite similar to consume, so a bit rarer to find.

Either way, the words are out there. The fact that they ain't used often is a vocabulary problem, not a language one.

I'd hate to be a tech to respond to a call at one of those places. Fighting drunks to get to a computer, getting unfunny (if you're not drunk) jokes or insults thrown at you, probably a huge sausage-fest (so slim chance of bringing a drunk chick home). I'm thinking the worst types of gamers would go there, but I am probably wrong...without the anonymity I'm sure you only have to worry about the drunks.

There's "shit-faced". As in let's go get shit-faced. Which is the one I hear most often.

I wouldn't call it exactly a 'gamer pub' but the arcade we have here in downtown Portland does have a bar that opens after 5PM. More importantly all those snotty kids get kicked out of the arcade at that point. *smirks*

well, we have "quite few" of thse - most kinda creative and hard to transfer. some in words, some in meaning. Some are "polite" some not so.

...well eskimos have alot of words for snow (finnish has only like 50) - we have "quite few" words and expressions related to the drunken state :D quite of them are ofcourse slang and not formal language, but do get the point very well.

There are a couple of such places called AFK Tavern in the Seattle area.

Always been a fan of those two. While no help to anyone, if I ever decide I want to lose a lot of money, it's always been a dream of mine to open a brewpub with a focus on boardgaming while there. I guess I could allow video game chat as well ;) Silly, yes but there you have it!

Finding a local Barcraft might be your best bet. These tend to be more esports focused, rather than general gaming, though. Should be quite fun if there's a big event going on, though.

I like when there's so much "tuna" in there, I come home with cats following me home.

We need a GOG bar.
