I really like gog.com but I think that the game selection (although amazing) definitely has room to grow.
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a request option where users would send in game requests and gog can go through the necessary procedures to legally obtain distribution rights. That way games like System Shock 2 can be available to the public. I don't know how feasible this idea is, but I would really like to see something along these lines be developed.
To be honest, I strongly thing that this would only increase gog's traffic, profit, and popularity as an online game provider.
With that said, If you decide to take this idea on I would like to suggest that System Shock 2 be your first project. =]
Thank you for your time.
The request feature is right here. As you see, a lot of us agree with your SS2 suggestion...
Welcome to GOG!
Now for the bad news... SS2 is going to be a VERY difficult game to get due to a plethora of licensing issues. :/

If you go to the Wishlist section, you'll find that SS2 is one of the top 10 most-desired games :D
At the moment there seems to be a wave of people suggesting the addition of features that are already here.
I'll admit the wishlist is not easily spotted, but it appears that noone reads the sticky thread named "Welcome, please read!" :-/

And has been one of the top 10 since it's inception.
And are you really Misanthropic? I'm only asking because it took me a while to figure out your name :)

I was a pessimist for a while, but there are moments when I see humanity do good things. It's just been my gaming name for a very long time and I keep it.
You still can obtain SS2, if you know where to look.
I have a....friendly copy of SS2, only because I just want to relive nostalgia again. I'll still buy it at a whim if it comes out on GOG though.
So, anyone want to play multiplayer SS2?

Doesn't EA own it outright? They seem to think they do...
Wishlist, whatever. I'm STILL going to say what games I want on here. >=)
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butch Bay (No the new version, I can't run the HD version.).
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy : I just can't find a download for the add version.
TES III Morrowind: Fuck Bethesda, fuck Steam, I just want my own DRM-less copy HERE.
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines: I want a cheaper copy. =)

I may be wrong, but I believe they own the IP to the series, but not the specific games themselves. So they could make a SS3 game using all the past stories as background but they can't re-release SS1 or SS2... if that makes sense?

That makes sense. Until you realise that this is EA we're talking about. They're not usually ones to let IP slip from their grasp.

TBH, nothing new.
The more the thread title says "read me first", the bigger chance that it will be overlooked.

Should name the "read me first" thread as "TOP SECRET GOG STAFF ONLY!"
