I've found some of my all-time favorite games on this site, but there is one that I sorely want to see added to the GOG list: Theme Park.

It was like an earlier, better version of Roller Coaster Tycoon. Who can forget the visitors barfing after spinning rides, and the "Eeeewww" sound that others made when walking by the area? Who can forget the Handymen who clean up the park and get an ecstatic look on their face when they find garbage to clean up? Who can forget the intro video, with the creepy Advisor tapping on the TV screen and saying, "Hey, you in there!"

Please please please find a way to recreate this game, GOG! My childhood will thank you immensely!
Heh, it's was fun, but thinking about it now makes me realize that it's all nostalgia. But it could be fun, if bundled with Sim Theme Park or maybe Sim Coaster. I'd still think that the RCT series (2 and 3) would be a great(er) release here, though. (Yes, I'm a big RCT and general rollercoaster fan)
Yeah, as great as Theme Park was Rollercoaster Tycoon is much more appealing to me these days. I'm actually surprised that RCT1+2 haven't been released on GoG yet.
To be honest with you there aren't that many 90s sims I'd want to be playing now. Very few haven't been surpassed since. Transport Tycoon is one possible exception but there are open remakes of that one too. Yeah, it's a nice bit of nostalgia, but realistically speaking, that's all it is now.
I remember that game! It was a lot of fun, and had a quirky sense of humor, but I think Roller Coaster Tycoon does pretty much the same thing (barfing includede) with better graphics and many more options. Wasn't Theme Park a Bullfrog game? I'm asking because when I was waxing nostalgic about Theme Hospital (another Bullfrog title), someone mentioned that getting the rights to those games was difficult.

It sure was. I actually acquired a disc of it a couple of months ago - runs great in DOSBox - though I've definitely gotten too used to the RCT model. Theme Park is without a doubt a good game, but it just isn't as great as it once was for me. Yet it does have its advantages in its full simulation mode. In that it sure trumps RCT. It was always fun buying out competitors, naggling over employee contract re-negotiations, making sure you weren't running out of stock, etc.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the business sim aspects of that game. That's true, RCT does not have that kind of depth, biz-wise.
