Well, they're only 5.99 so get both. Problem solved. ;)
I grabbed both of em too :)
And yeah, Weclock quoted me so... I probably don't have to repeat myself :)
(Damn, is it the original quote? There's a typo and it wouldn't surprise me if I wrote it like that x) )

These are such different games that it's an apples-to-oranges comparison. However, here are some points to consider about each.
Main points of Reneck Rampage:
--- killer soundtracks (if you like psychobilly)
--- completely politically incorrect sense of humor (and the humor is the prime attraction)
--- Tactics? Ain't them some kind of breath mint?
Main points of Freespace:
--- seat-of-your-pants, white-knuckle ride through space
--- preplanning may greatly improve your odds of survival
--- strong, branching storyline
Both fun, or at least fun if you like their respective genres, but utterly different.
I havnt played redneck rampage but I do have Freespace. I agree with Luned with what he said. What I like most of Freespace is you feel part of the battle and when things get ugly you actually get that "oh crap I'm doomed" feeling when a big ship with lots of guns appear and you're in a tiny ship.
I think after you played both games, then Redneck Rampage will stick in your head as "that funny shooter" and Freespace as "that incredible experience".
Freespace is a lot more immersive once you're in the game and presents a truly breathtaking campaign.
Thus: Get Redneck Rampage first, enjoy it and afterwards take your time and be amazed by Freespace.
