Huhu,
I know there is an official wishlist, but I also want to introduce this game here, also because many don't know it.
There aren't that many space-simulations out there, so I think if you are a fan of the genre you should at least download the demo/trial version.
You like Space-simulations like Freespace, Elite, Darkstar One, SpaceForce? Then you will love Freelancer! Explore the open and giant universe, pirate other players, police and traders, follow the storyline, fight against NPCs and in massive PvP-Fights in Multiplayer, trade goods for your wealthiness and experience the dynamic reputation system with over 30 Factions !
Greed, morality, compassion, anger... whatever motivates you, the dynamic universe will respond. Take the first step. The universe is waiting.
In Freelancer you decide by your own. Do you want to be the hero of the police? Or do you want to chill out and relax while you are trading? Or do you want the bad boy who attacks the navy, police & trader organisations? It is your choice !!

With Microsoft I said no. We won't see this game on GOG.com.
Well I remember that a friend told me that ubisoft has (almost?) as much rights on it as microsoft.
Ubi? Unless I'm remembering wrong, freelancer was made internally by microsoft games as a semi-sequel to starlancer
Yeah, but AFAIK many rights got sold when ubisoft released it as budget versions (software pyramid, etc.)

I dunno, but my version of the game says Ubisoft Exclusive on the cover.

Great game, no question. I'd wish more people know it and play it online.
Singleplayer story is also nice and the engine has MUCH potential. Just search Youtube for videos from why485!
One of mine is sold under xplosive banner.

When Freelancer first came out, people said "meh". I read the reviews, didn't like what they described, and said "meh" too. After all, though space sims are rare, those that do make it into the market are seldom good
However, after learning of a few TCs in the works, including a Star Wars TC, I changed my mind. I'm getting this game
I liked Freelancer but it's extremely repetitive, even the dialogs are pretty much all the same on every planet. But the "space" thing is pretty good.

this
freelancer has some awesome mouse+keyboard combat control and in my opinion they managed to pick the perfect amount of complexity in trading/quests (read: less than a lot of other space sims) so it"s easy to pick up and have a blast with for a while.
unfortunately, it will get real samey real fast as long as you arent right in the middle of a dogfight
Freelancer is a great game, i also was bored at the beginning, all those previews naah, but i played the demo and i was fascinated of the freedom and the size. in past you had your space, some Planet bitmaps in the Background and that's just it, and here you had the freedom of flying behind stations, flying into nebulas and asteoridfields and leaving them ,
a great game

*Hehe*, that the reason why every FL player should play in MP too ^^
Epic pvp fights, a pvp control which I haven't seen in any other games.
Btw, MP is still alive ! Even if you don't see any servers, they are there! How to connect to them:

Eh..Freelancer Fans should vote for it at the wishlist too :D

I used to have fun with this on the Jolt.co.uk server. Had some nice rules, players could put [X] tags or [H] tags etc to specify allegiances/motives. The 25 vs 25 Hunter/Pirate battles next to in the Rhineland systems never got old.
I just wish it had managed scale better. Everything that isn't your ship just looks tiny. The battleships and planets should be about 20 times the size of what they are, but oh well.

It was made by Digital Anvil, which was later assimilated by MS if I'm not mistaken.
But Freelancer is an awesome game, I've probably played through the single player at least 8 or so times, and an additional 4 with different mods. Haven't played much online though, as I keep losing my ID when I reinstall my system.
