Adventure hat--checked; helpful parrot--checked; ability to move and jump--checked; huge, open, pixelated world--checked. I think we’re ready for some serious adventure.

This particular adventure is serious business: years and years ago, an angry demon tried to destroy the world, but a brave wizard (presumably) shouted “You shall not progress!” and cast the beast away from the realm. The twelve items the wizard used to fight off the monster are out there somewhere, waiting for a hero to collect them and once again save the world from a new hellish threat. You’re just a small boy with an ability to WASD, or ←↑→↓, or move, jump, and crawl, and with a little help from a parrot you will become a hero.

Treasure Adventure Game is a open world platform adventure game with an endless (oh yes we’ve checked) supply of islands, treasures, secrets, quests, puzzles, and characters. It is mostly quest-based with the main story in the center and a few smaller tasks handed to you by NPCs in need of assistance. The graphics are a 2D pixelated wonder that you will fall in love with right from the beginning. The 100% retro graphics, superb soundtrack, and excellent gameplay combine to make this game a fantastic journey through a world in which you can find something new every time you get back to Treasure Adventure Game.

Explore, enjoy the story, talk to everyone, and push every rock and wall! Get lost in Treasure Adventure Game, that is available now on GOG.com, absolutely free.
Another free game! Thanks GOG :D
Thankfully I didn't have any trouble installing, or running this game. No crashes, and everything seems to be working fine.

For those who are trying it for the first time, the default keys (at least the ones I got) to do things are:

arrows left and right - move left and right
arrow up - interact with people, jump higher (at least I think that is what makes you jump higher)
arrow down - crawl
a - action / interaction key
s - inventory screen
z - attack
x - jump
esc - goes to main page

I don't think any other keys do anything.

As for the game itself (I'm about 20 minutes into it), at first it takes a bit to get used to. Trying to learn to jump properly, where to enter certain areas (like chimneys), what you can interact with, etc...
But, after just a few minutes, and a couple of tries, the game does become a lot more user friendly.
I'm enjoying the retro type feel of the game. It's not overly-complicated, yet it does have enough things to keep you constantly searching for what / where to do next.
The dialogues can be a bit slow (especially when they repeat while trying to interact / jump to an area where a npc is standing), but you can "A" through them quickly.

I like the respawning enemies, allowing you to collect as many coins as you want.

I just bought a baseball cap (even though I don't know what it does for you - besides changing your character's appearance). A bit of in-game explanation for items would have been appreciated.

I'm about to sail to the first area of the game (besides the starting area), so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next. I do like how the boat appears / disappears whenever you get in the water.

For a free game, this game is offering quite a bit of fun, and I can't wait to get more into it to see what comes next.

Thank you GOG for this free gift, and thank you to the developer for not only making it available, but also for coming onto this forum and talking to those with problems. It's good to see a publisher care enough about their game to stay in touch like that.

I don't. ;) But which game? Grimrock?
I have a 7600, the test build refused to run on that, and they fixed it. Awesome bunch of people. ;)
Hey hey hey! Glad to see that this game will get a little more attention!
Not to go hipster on anyone but I downloaded this before it was on GOG and I must say that it is more fun than some games I have paid money for! It's a must play for anyone who likes Zelda Windwaker.

Oh;(
Hope You'll sort it out somehow.;)
Well, running it in Admin keeps it from crashing during the grandma scene, and I can save changes I make in the setup.exe, but now the game crashes when I exit out of it.

robitstudios: Thanks.
You're very welcome.
Being able to enter someone's living room via jumping straight down the chimney is just AWESOME. Srsly.
