I've been thinking about the game Fragile Allegiance for ever and wow here it is. There's been a void in my 4x gaming that could not be filled. This game was the best, and over the years I lost access to it, then completely forgot the name. Years and years. Yet I always thought about Fragile Allegiance. Especially when I'd get a new 4X space game. "Dangit, this isn't as cool as that, um, what was it, Broken Friendships, no, er, Smashed Diplomats, drat no ...".

It drove me nuts! Game after game I'd always think of Fragile Allegiance but couldn't remember the name. I find GOG, and I figured, "I'll know it if I see it." I saw it. I knew it.

As for the game, it's as if Eve met Homeworld met Diplomacy, produced some hybrid mutant and then started nuking eachother from orbit. There is nothing like it.

TL;DR -- Start with one asteroid, end with asteroids that have become missile-firing, energy-spitting, ship-carrying Death Stars.
