I grew up on Mechwarrior, but heard all the time about people putting together Gundam models with complicated names and versions and levels; it all seemed silly to me so I never bothered to learn much about it all, but getting to watch the start of this series, it's actually pretty cool. Cheesy 80s of course, but what the hell, cheesy never stopped me from liking half the games here. =D

Ooh, I've never seen Gundam before (well, except one or two episodes a friend showed me once, though I can't remember which series it was).

I've only seen one Gundam series that was on Cartoon Network, not sure which one it was but my god it was depressing. Full on Battlestar Galactica depressing.

Great series! Highly recommended if you haven't already seen them, and aren't afraid of high quality dubs.

I caught an episode of one of the newer series (looked like some CGI models, and definitely digital coloring) and I thought it was full on Battlestar Galactica depressing too; as in, all that potential and cool shit, and such a shit story and shit characters (well, after the first season of BSG anyway).

But this first series reminds me more of Robotech (the Macross Saga part, anyway).

The original is really dull. Zeta is pretty awesome though. Well, its awesome for the majority of the show at lest.

For a given value of high quality. This was the 80s, after all. It really isn't bad at all though, except for the unemotional monotone screams and...well, generally a lot of flat, monotone speaking in general. But it's still good.

And this shit had to have been modeled on Star Wars. Someone tell me I'm wrong?

Yes, but she sure was memorable. The show wouldn't have been as great if she wasn't the way she was.

Just got done watching the first episode of MSG. Seems pretty freaking awesome so far. Will definitely watch all the episodes.
