Gizmos and Gadgets I think, a crappy Learning Company game.
FreeSpace.

My family had Macs before then.

(in which case my first Mac game was Dark Castle)
The very first game I bought for pc was Commandos, I remember petting the case and smelling the cd. I didn't have a computer at the time :)

First game would have probably been Time Commando, Heroes of Might $ Magic or Duke Nukem, I can't remember, we played them all in a gaming cafe with 4 486's :)
Buck Rogers ; Countdown to Doomsday in about 94 or 95.
Back in 98, my oldest brother got his first PC and he let me mess around it with Solitaire and later on he bought an Underwater Adventure/Shooter kind-of game and Titanic which i got to play.

The first PC Game i actually owned was King's Quest: Mask of Eternity which i bought when my parents got me my first PC :D
I really cannot remember but it was either Doom II or Time Commando.
My first PC was one I bought in college from a local shop. It was a custom build with a Cyrix 3x86 DLC and a 1 MB Trident video card. The dealer installed DOS, Win 3.1 and a big bundle of shareware... including Wolfenstein.

That was my first PC game.
Well I can't remember PC specific. I know my cousin had a Commodore 64 back before I was even into gaming myself..played all sorts of weird games on that thing. Later my parents hand a Tandy 1000 that I didn't even use.

Then my friend across the street introduced me to King's Quest V, I guess I was a freshman in High School.

I was hooked. He showed me KQ5 and SQ4 and I never looked back. I got myself all the PQ, SQ, KQ series and I played every single one (even starting at PQ1, SQ1 KQ1 on my Tandy if I remember..5.25 disks)

I remember that I had to get a job to get my first computer which was a 386sx 16mhz! OUCH! Ahh nostalgia. Brings back memories of before the internet. We had BBS's we dialed with modems..dial-up..300 baud, 1200 baud, 2400 baud 56k. Ahhh.

First computer game of any kind: I taught an IBM 1130 to play a respectable game of 5-card draw (1972).
First game anybody else would know about: Hamurabi (on that same IBM 1130, 1972).
First game on a personal computer of any kind: Zork II on an Apple II Plus with a cassette loader (1981).
First game on a PC that was a derivative of IBM's PC: TRACON II on a Compaq Deskpro (1990).
First time I upgraded a PC just to play a game: that same Compaq Deskpro, adding a then-whopping 2MB of EMS memory and an NEC VGA card and monitor that could do 800x600 (1991).
Cool to see that everybody still remembers their first game ... some in impressive detail :D. And they say in love you never forget your first one ... hehehe. Even nicer for those that were able to find their lost "precious one" here on GOG or are still owning it from those days.

Arteveld: IBM PC? Digger i guess. Not sure if it's the first game i've played on it, but surely the first i can remember.

This one, though mine was not a "booter".
ME TOO!

*high fives Arteveld

Digger was badass. For a pc game at least. ;) It had sound effects and background music going simultaneously on the pc speaker.

I can still hear the music in my head.

One second thought, FU Arteveld ;)

just kidding
