Nope, there's been loads of those.

EDIT: Not that I'm happy about that... it's pretty disappointing.

Sanctum would be one.
I don't have a specific example, but SirPrimalform is correct. I think it's mostly Steamworks bames that appeared in Indie Royale bundles.

Impire is a new game that's not part of a bundle, so that could indeed be something new. But I'm not following Desura closely enough enough to make a reliable statement in that regard.
That's...... insane

Buying one game on a client and it requires another client to run.... decline

What's the word on this game anywho, it says "strategy" on steam but the trailer looks more like an action game, also looks like Cyanide are using the Magicka engine

Galactic Arms Race is another. While it is on steam, it's also on steam greenlight atm as I recall, and you can't purchase it from steam. Go figure...
Looking forward to Impire, hopefully it'll be a good game :E

You're right, a lot of them got on there via the Indie Royale, but Impire definitely isn't the first one to be released independently of the IR.

I never buy any games via the Desura client .

Desura, much like Gamer's Gate, don't care about DRM. They have plenty of games with DRM there, many of which use steam, but there are also games like Depth Hunter & I think Miner Wars.

Well yeahm but they are kinda cool, you should check out "Underrail", it's a Fallout-style game currently doing the Desura's "alpha funding" thing, the developer himself is a bro.

But apart from indie games they aren't much good
