Roman5: Doesn't China have a very long history and tradition with Fireworks?
hedwards: I'm not really sure what history would have to do with it.
Well, I think Roman5 just means they're more culturally important to the Chinese than they are to you or I (or anyone else for that matter). Fireworks have been used to celebrate in China for hundreds of years.
aivadroid: Are you going to use fireworks this New Year's Eve?
Nah, not me. It's not uncommon to let off fireworks on New Years Eve here, but the 'traditional' time to let them off is Bonfire night (a.k.a. Guy Fawkes Night, but bonfire night is much older really).
I'm probably just going to drink and play music.
