As an almost-direct tie-in to the recent "Why do AAA games fail?" thread, here's a just-released compilation from downsized Zynga employees as to where their parent company went wrong.

Most things won't be a surprise. A few things might, such as how little payment the company needed to average from users in order to stay financially afloat.
At least it sounds like Zynga actually took care of their former employees. In too many cases they tend to get the cold shoulder in such situations.
But what about that severance package?

I got four months salary plus an additional week for each partial year. I worked almost two years, so I got 4.5 months paid. Plus insurance is paid on top of that.
