So a list of Steam achievement for the game just appeared:

and for Final Fantasy VII...

I wonder why they just cannot port Final Fantasy I, IV , and VI on PC, they port it everywhere except PC.....
If the price is right, which it usually isn't. ^^ I would play FFVIII again, for the third time.
Yes, they could port all the games easily.
And Final Fantasy !-VI require two minutes to run on PC
And...why not porting also Chrono Trigger?
Squaresoft WAS the jrpg for Snes-PSX era, so they can "emulate" Sega by porting all the masterpiece on PC.

I think they will price it for 9.98€.

Well we still have emulators :P
That's a bit of a bizarre and random list of achievements. Where's the bosses? Actually completing the game? There's one achievement for progress through the game ""SEED_FIRST_SALARY", nothing else.
I tried to play FFVII recently, and thought it aged so badly. Really enjoyed it when I was a kid, though.

It's 12.99 on their own website.

DRM was pretty horrid though from what I remember, hope they just use Steam on the Steam version.

VIII is more of a surprise. VII coming seemed like it was inevitable.

Yeah, I think I'll just keep using ePSXe whenever I want to replay these. Unless they come to GOG.
Rise of Nations seems to be coming to Steam as well. Gold version

I have both games on PSN, I loved VII and enjoy VIII but men....I tried to replay VIII and is simply boring like hell,I spent maybe a whole afternoon absorbing spells to make my character stronger.
And absorbing fire from a Pyro for hours is just...well,boring.

O_O

Is steam tying to compete with GOG by getting good old games before GOG?
There was some remake of Final Fantasy 1 in some hand-held thing? That would be nice.

Well, it would be nicer to port those some good psp/gameboy games to something which I can play. =)

My brother loves Final Fantasy 8's Junction system to death, he does even mind absorbing abilities, he got everyones Ultimate Weapon and Limit Breaks the quest to fight Ultima Weapon scared me.

That's why you're meant to get your magic from modding and refining cards.
