I was wondering why FFVIII's PC release is supposedly going to get updated graphics and such. This thread has helped me stop wondering.

First, the sound is for example, like with the turks song, the drum sounds like someone hitting a wet pillow instead of a drum.

They're releasing ff 8 on pc? When? Where did you hear this?


And as for the log in, you don't have to log in every time. I've been able to play it without logging in since I first logged in.

What that patch does is convert your installation of the new game into an installation of the original PC release. Doing so makes it compatible with all the mods out there. It also, IIRC, includes the OpenGL Driver so all the models should look smooth and higher resolutions should be supported.

Do any of you know what the buttons have to be set to so that you have the original controls?

Doesn't it have cancel in round one and accept in square. But you can Change those in game. Also isn't there some option with default..

It actually is pretty with those new backgrounds.

I don't know which ones to set it to on my controller though. And the default ones don't really set the controller up right.

Default is actually bad. Weird accept for doing stuff.. Square, what the hell.

Edit: when in bootleg there is that nightmare mode.. What should I do that to work.. I have everything else worked alright. Is it working? =)
