OK, so we know that you GOG Staff are very busy with the many, many things you have to do, but I was wondering if one of you could take just a minute out of your schedule to let us, the GOG Community, know how the company is doing?

We, the Community, have been buying your games, posting on websites, sending Tweets, Liking and Following you on Facebook, wearing your t-shirts and buttons, placing stickers, and generally trying to get the word out about GOG.com. Even so, it is somewhat difficult to know if our efforts are having any effect. How is GOG.com doing as a company? Are you folks making a profit? Is the company growing? Are sales improving? It would be nice to know what (if any) effect our efforts are having when it comes to helping GOG.com grow.

We did get to see one graph (of sales totals) during the CD Projekt announcement.... Is there any more information you can give us?

Is financial data publicly available to anyone who requests it in Poland as it is in the U.S.? Because if so then anyone can look that info up themselves with a bit of work.

Today's presentation showed steady growth since launch, with a massive spike during the holiday sale, and a 163% sales increase in 2010 over 2009. What else would you need?

Some people like to look at figures....like actual financial records and not just a graph on some whitepaper.

'Some people' can also mean some owners of other DD stores and potential GOG competitors, like Gabe Newell for example. GOG certainly don't like that.

OMG it's not some espionage of conspiracy.....besides as I said in the US most companies are required to publish financial data each year...don't know about Poland though.

Is that not only public companies? Does GOG have shareholders?

It can be, even without financial data. I agree that it's unlikely, though.

Yea, I'd love too look at some hard numbers of titles sold per month, but I understand if its not in their best interest to reveal such information.

The only thing they might get from that is that one can make money selling old games without DRM, and I suspect they know that already without any such data being given to them....also wtf? I posted a reply to Jimmy then tried replying to this but when I did the reply to jimmy disappeared. So then I replied to this and saw it appear on the page and then tried replying to Jimmy again and THIS reply disappeared......weird.

Because I actually have done a couple of presentations of GOG for classes and generally teachers like it when you can get hard financial numbers.

Also, I'm just generally curious at to how financially viable such a bold concept is. If the numbers were good enough, I think other companies might consider adopting DRM free titles.

EDIT: Fixed whatever oddity appeared.

I think the forum is botched again....

It seems that trying to reply to another post while your latest post is the last post in a thread messes up when posting now.

That typically only applies to publicly traded companies. AFAIK GOG isn't publicly traded so they aren't under any obligation to release the figures beyond the taxing authorities involved.
