Much in the spirit of the favourite films thread we have around here, this one is for TV shows.
I recently discovered the joys of House M.D or Doctor House as it's called here; yes I know, we're 4 years late to the party. But having enjoyed what I've seen of it on TV so far, I ended up forking out just over 10,000 yen to order the upcoming series 1 to 5 box set from the UK. A good price actually, considering it'll cost almost 18,000 yen just to buy the first series locally!
But this got me wondering, what other great TV shows am I missing? Which ones do the GOG community watch? (This should be interesting enough given the number of countries we span =))
Prolly have a thread for this, not entirely sure.
Anyway, I watch a lot of TV (my DVR can attest to that), so I'll put it in list form.
Fringe
24
Top Gear
CSI (all of them)
Battlestar Galactica
Castle
The Daily Show
Anderson Cooper 360
House, MD
Brothers and Sisters (my mom started watching it, so I have to watch it with her. Not bad)
Hotel Babylon
Spooks (fuck yeah)
Doctor Who
Mythbusters
Smash Lab
Time Warp
Jon and Kate Plus 8 (It's freaking hilarious)
American Chopper
Lost
The Mentalist
ER
One Way Out
Man vs Wild (whoever does not like Bear Grylls surviving in sometimes faked locales must be shot on sight)
And um, yeah. There's probably some I haven't even remembered, but these are some of my favorite shows. The fact that I still have time to game astounds me.

Red Dwarf
MythBusters and Dexter
Prolly have a thread for this, not entirely sure.
Didn't find one after several searchs over 20 odd pages.
I guess I should have listed a few others I watch then, there should be no surprise that I also watch:
24 (upto season 6, waiting for the season 7 box set to be released in the UK)
CSI (original, Miami, New York - but not much of any as I only get what's available at rental which sadly, isn't nearly enough)
Cold Case
Casualty (UK hosptial show which is far older than ER)
Primeval (another UK show currently shown on NHK)
And ALF (which I watch with the kids once a week)
Not much I know, but English language shows are a rarity unless you have cable -- which I can't be bothered with right now.

Oooh, Primeval! Loved that show! It ended its run a while ago on TVB (where all the English shows go, pretty much). Heard they're not making a new season, which blows. And holy fuck, people still show ALF? I loved that.
Criminal Minds and Heroes are pretty good. But Heroes is falling apart plot-wise now. I mean, Claire will be a lesbian in the new season.
Only 4 shows: 24, and the Holy Trinity of TV. Anyone want to make a guess what the Holy Trinity is?
Fringe - X-files for the noughties. Just started Season 2. Very good show.
Dollhouse - Joss [Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Firefly] Whedon's newest offering. Season 2 starts tomorrow (I think). Some gaping plot-holes, but worth watching.
Top Gear - Currently on break, but always a laugh. 3 40-year-old+ kids playing with cars.
House, MD - Just started Season 6. Very formulaic. Watch Season 1, then forget the rest...Mind you, the two-parter for season 6 was pretty funny.
Legend of the Seeker - Starting Season 2 soon (I Hope). Based on the novels by Terry Goodkind. A bit "meh", but watchable. Fun and well written, if not acted.
Currently waiting for :
Battlestar Galactica : The Plan - going back to the start of the "new / re-imagined" series originally created in 1978. Season 4 of the main show got far too religious...Kind of ruined the whole thing for many..."The Plan" goes back to show some of the story from the Cylons side of things.
Battlestar Galactica : Caprica - Set ~50 years before the start of the new / re-imagined BSG, it shows how the Cylons were created by man, and the moral/ethical dilemma's faced and ignored/overcome, yada yada yada... Pilot looked fairly good.
Stargate : Universe - Starting the 2nd of October, this is another spin-off from the Stargate stable. A team of mixed scientists and military personnel are attacked and are forced to evacuate their base, but end up across the universe on an ancient "seeding" ship, with no way back to Earth (10 gets you 1 that they find a way by episode 6). TBH, it sounds kind of aimed at children, but what the hey, not like there's anything decent on UK TV, so I'll be watching...for a while anyway ;)
Sanctuary - Almost exclusively filmed on green-screen, this quirky little show was originally internet-only, but was picked up at the end of Season 1 by TV, and converted. It still works. Starring Amanda "Stargate SG-1" Tapping, and a whole slew of well-known Stargate and other actors, it's well worth a look.
My memory fails at the moment, but those should keep you going for a while :P

Prydeless: The Mentalist

HELL YEAH! Simon Baker is a great actor. Loved him in The Guardian.
